Cute place, but the description seems misleading. Read an article that said you could get a ‘drink at the bar’, but the drink choices were coffee, hot chocolate, and tea. Was expecting to be able to have a beer based on the ‘brews’ in the name. Overall a cute place and fun concept.
Edit: Thanks for responding to my review. I absolutely understand that licensing can take time, and appreciate what you’re doing for pet adoption in our community. But in the mean time, it may be smart to edit your website that states that alcohol is available. Again, it’s misleading. Thanks!

Love this little place ♥ disagree with the bad reviews I can see on here.. clearly people cannot read because everything they're complaining about is written quite clearly on the website. Do you guys not do research before showing up to a place?
Anyways, we have a great time everytime we come and I can't wait for our next visit 😍 so happy so many kitties are getting adopted ♥

Very nice people, but be forewarned they will direct you to the cafe first. It only lasts for thirty minutes and if you get drinks/snacks your time will be up before you get to spend time with the cats. By the time we got drinks we had 7 minutes.

I'm not giving one star, because this concept is good in theory, and I want to see kitties get snuggles, and eventually adopted. However, human management definitely needs work.
I agree with the negative reviews that the age minimum should be front and center on the website. I did see the minimum because I did click the reservations option, but I could totally understand someone not seeing it, since reservations are "encouraged", but not required.
I emailed and asked about their age policy, and received a response several days later to "stay tuned" for events for little ones, but never heard anything.
Eventually I signed up for their newsletter, and did see that they would have a special day on the 18th for kids under 12 at 11AM and 11:30AM. I clicked the Reservations button directly from that email, but there the earliest reservation time on any day (including the 18th) was noon.
I called twice and left voicemails, but have not heard back.
Doesn't strike me as a business that really wants business. Poor kitties. Hopefully it gets better managed!
Edit: I don't want to be a keyboard warrior, and didn't even want to leave a negative review. I'd have been more than happy to remove it. Just wanted a call back to one of the two calls, or emails I sent. It worked, so mission accomplished.
Im sorry if there was a misunderstanding in my statement. I do not disagree with the policies, I just said I can understand where the reviews that said it should be "front and center on the page" were coming from.
Please let me know if I can help support with timely responses or website design in any way, so I'm putting my time where my mouth is.
"Cait" please feel free to reach out to me if you'd like support to help kitties. No need to continue a Twitter feud.

Visited last month with my best friend and we're heading back in a few weeks. Totally worth the drive for our bestie days (45 min for each of us, it's basically halfway since we live opposite directions)! We've been to a different cat cafe before but the atmosphere here was just awesome, so home-y. Felt comfortable right away and then our baby Reeses adopted me haha. They were willing to hold her for a week so i could prepare and be home on my days off for the introduction to our other 2 cats. You can just feel that the owner/staff pours their hearts into this. They were trying to get to know you, even before talk about adoption.
So even if you're not looking to adopt,it's a great place to chill and just enjoy kitty time ❤️ I'm happy to be able to support such a great business and hope there will be many many more happy endings for the sweet furballs.
Btw, their sweet tea is soooooo good!!!

I’m really excited to have a cat cafe here, in Summerville. My experience was great! The employees were AMAZING! They’d done NINE adoptions already before we arrived. They’d received new cats, and they were adjusting, but adorable. It’s brand new, so there are growing pains, but the space is nice. It’s a great place to just go and chill out. I will definitely go back, as a bit of a get away from life’s stresses for an hour. It’s calm and relaxing. Lol! I would definitely recommend.

I am happy many cats were adopted today. But when that happens, I think the workers should tell people with reservations and allow them to change their reservation. My friends and I were able to touch two cats for a minute, but four cats with 15 people is not very fun. I think they need to follow Pounce's business plan or they won't have much business.

This could be such a cute concept in Summerville, but opening day should have been an open house to work out the kinks vs charging $11 per person. I was excited to bring my kiddo because she loves cats and I love coffee. We were very disappointed and ended up leaving. We reviewed the website briefly and at first glance, there’s no mention of charging to get in, age limit, or reservations. You have to look through the FAQ’s page which is a different tab. This would be my first cat cafe, I wouldn’t have a had a clue otherwise. Best of luck to you all. Great concept, needs some love.

ummm could you really ask for more? awesome adorable kitties, yummy beverages & snacks, an amazing owner, and also kitties finding their furever home at the same time!! definitely a great place and you can tell this business will be a success. thank you for bringing this cafe and having such a smooth welcoming opening for everyone! 2 adoptions the first day is amazing and you guy’s impact is already being made.

Mews & Brews is a perfect place to chill out and hang with some cats. When I visited I saw that not only do they have cats but they have cozy space to play board games plus a book exchange. The perfect way to unwind after work.
