Southern Brews Coffee

I visited Southern Brews for the first time today. I was already on John’s Island and saw it and wanted to give it a try. When I arrived the drive-through line had cars in it but it wasn’t out into the parking lot. I parked and walked up to the window to order. After I ordered the Angel Oaka iced latte and paid, the employee told me it would be a few minutes for the espresso to be ready for my coffee. I assumed that meant 10 or so minutes and said that was fine. I ended up waiting 25 minutes for my coffee to be made. When my drink was finally ready I mentioned the amount of time I had to wait and the lady that made the coffee apologized for the wait but didn’t seem to say this was out of the ordinary. She said my order was in line with the drive-through customers. I noticed that maybe only 4 drive-through customers received their coffee/order in the amount of time I waited. I loved the coffee (it was strong, creamy, and sweet) but I don’t plan on returning here. I have never had to wait this long for a coffee, and I’ve been at much busier coffee shops before and gotten my coffee within 10 or so minutes.

I drove in for a regular cup of joe, amazing! I am glad I got the large! Friendly barista, quick and easy! Definitely recommend if you are on Johns Island! I had driven by for years but never stopped! Loved the plain coffee! I get it black no fancy stuff! A good cup of joe! And for $3.05 that’s a deal! Thank you! Cheers!

I don’t know what the deal is with the older lady who sometimes takes your order. She’s always very nosily inquiring if I want to leave a tip, then seems judgmental afterward. Tips are a form of optional payment for good service, not an obligation. I support tipping, but she needs to cool it and let the customer decide instead of pressuring them. I should not be made to feel uncomfortable if I choose not to tip on a coffee at a drive-thru. Otherwise, good coffee shop.

Delicious breakfast sandwiches! I always order the ham and cheese croissant with the sundried tomato mayo! Pair it with a caramel macchiato.

This place has the best coffee and is just what I needed today. The coffee was immaculate. I got one of their croissants and it was amazing. It was flaky and warm. I highly recommend this place.

There is a drive through here and the server was very polite. I just didn't think the coffee was a strong enough brew for my taste.

It’s perfectly fine for a drive through coffee place. But my god in heaven you will wait 20 minutes or more with only two cars ahead of you. Ridiculously slow. Don’t see how they turn over enough profit with these wait times.

Delicious latte, fast drive thru and very friendly staff! Breakfast sandwich is delicious!!!
