Second State Coffee

I'm guessing I'm the outlier here, and I'm ok with that. My biggest gripe are the prices. I get that everything has gone up with inflation, but this goes beyond that. Perhaps it's what is needed to stay afloat, but I honestly cringe every time I place my order and pay my bill. My wife loves it though.

Great coffee, great food, great atmosphere! Loved the procuitto and arugula waffles (which are all conveniently gluten free!!!). The latte with oat milk was so frothy and creamy. So good!

Ordered an iced brown sugar oat milk latte and it was amazing! The quality of coffee here is great

I love this cute little coffee shop! I stop in every time I’m in town. Their espresso is excellent but the waffles are nearly irresistible! Don’t sleep on the cinnamon sugar toast, either. It’s just as comforting as it was when you were a kid.

Great in every detail: service, food, coffee and atmosphere. It's a clean, well run place with delicious freshly made food.

Got the deviled egg waffle, cold brew and chai tea with milk.
Waffle was great, kinda light, kinda reminded me of a bit of cornbread. Would try again.
Chai tea was good. Not too sweet.
Cold brew is excellent.

Loved the GF waffles! Staff was super friendly and helpful. Wish we lived closer so we could be regulars.

So I have traveled a lot and I've tried many coffee shops lattes in my time. One of my pet peeves about a latte is when whoever is making the latte overheats the milk and makes it way too hot 🔥
A proper latte should have a nice frothy foamy top and not too hot it should be just perfect to drink and second state makes it perfect every time. I also love that it's a neighborhood coffee shop and they remember all the locals and all the regulars. Overall great experience great place I go there just about every day highly recommend

This place is HIDDEN TREASURE!! Being a digital creative by trade, I’m always looking for great coffee shops around Charleston to work from— this place is a GEM!!! Waffles are extraordinary, the baristas and staff are cool as heck and super super helpful, and their cappuccino KNOCKS it out of the park!!! Computer friendly, great clean vibey spot to come and knock out some work, have a beautiful experience, and be inspired. Can’t recommend Broom Wagon enough!!

I couldn't figure out how to order regular coffee. But maybe that was me. Otherwise great coffee, and a super moist blueberry muffin. Better than Starbucks
