Ordered the Moroccan Mint Tea, and they let it steep too long before giving the order. The flavor was off, and I would not buy it again.

This is my second time trying this place. I hesitated to come back but I was hungry and my preferred place had closed. I got the tuna sandwich, $13. $15 with tax, plus $2 tip. It came with a pear and carrots I didn’t realize it would just be a raw pear; the description on the menu was different. Anyway I decided to get the chips instead and they literally threw the pear in the trash because I had taken it away from the counter. A health code thing. Food waste makes me so angry and they could tell I literally had not touched it in the 30 seconds since I sat down. Overall… overpriced food. $17! And I didn’t even get a drink. Pretentious atmosphere. Will never go back.

Badly understaffed, so the wait time can vary and sometimes orders get missed, which is understandable, because again, very badly understaffed. I'm sure as soon as this place hires enough people they'll be good to go.

The egg & Vermont cheddar with chives sandwich was by far the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had. It honestly blew me away. The atmosphere is lovely too!

+1 star for the lovely ambience of this place! Unfortunately, the drinks I’ve had here are all watery and tasteless. I love chai lattes and I feel like this place has the worst chai in town. I would recommend many other places (Riverbend, Blanchard) to get your specialty drink. And for $6+? Truly depressing. Their sandwiches and soups are okay, but I’ve never been super impressed. I only go here if I need to find a place to work in downtown and I don’t have a way to get to a place with better coffee. But please note that it also can sometimes be too busy to find a spot to sit down on both weekdays and weekends.

Have it a negative review because, despite lovely huge windows, and an attractive space, the coffee was watery (after I requested a double shot) and the pastries were packaged and not very good. I hesitated before ordering the pastries, which were pre-wrapped, but the server said they were "fresh." Fresh from the factory, maybe. With these prices, Urban Farmhouse should and can do a lot better than being a tourist trap.

Fresh food. Plenty of light, healthy options. Good coffee and teas. Nice selection of local products.

Ordered a simple matcha latte and got an actual latte that they poured green tea into. I politely explained how to properly make a matcha latte and the batista said, I think it's better my way and cuts the taste of the matcha tea🙄 I walked away and threw it in the trash and plan to never return.

I'll start by saying that I always try to patronize locally owned establishments, and I'll also say that I really wanted to love this place, but I am obligated to provide honesty about my experience. The place was about 75% full, which I thought was a pretty good sign! The person who took my order was low energy and in no hurry. I asked for the chicken sandwich without onions, but she said that they were pre-made (not made to order) and that I could scrape them off. I also ordered the fruit, but she said they were out. To finish my order, I got a large coffee that I later discovered was not hot. My order was to go, so I was unable to address any issues with the manager. I attached photos of my chicken sandwich, which really had a tiny bit of chicken and was below avg in taste. For the quality of food and the cost, I would have to say that I am not a fan of this place. Side note, I went during lunch, and it took about 20 minutes to get my food. Also, another patron told a staff member that she had been waiting 25 min for a juice drink that she ordered; she was told that it takes a while to get the fresh juice. I don't think I will return anytime soon.

Service was slow I stood at the register for a couple of minutes even though there was no one in line and multiple people behind the counter. I ordered a drink was looking around and sat down while waiting for my drink a few gentlemen came in and ordered they all received there drinks before I did and 1 of them ordered the same drink as I did. Really need to work on your customer service.

I’m glad they survived the pandemic.. lots of local places like this did not make it. The service here has always been pretty slow, but I’d say it’s worth checking out for the ambiance.. the food is great, love the sandwiches .. they have a nice selection of kombuchas and gluten free deserts. I usually avoid this place because it’s kind of pricey(most places downtown are) but I’m glad they are still around bc Shockoe Slip wouldn’t be the same without it.

The place looks nice and cleaned. We went in a monday afternoon around 4pm and tried to order a juice, and they said they stopped making juices for the day.. ordered a couple of coffees and waited over 15 min, even though there were only 2 costumers in the store that had their drinks already.

Espresso was burnt/overroasted/overprocessed and essentially undrinkable. Staff wasn't exactly surly, but not friendly either, particularly for the beginning of the day with no one in the shop yet. Shop is visually cute and welcoming, but there's definitely better coffee to be had nearby.

One of the worst chai lattes I've ever had. Tasted like a combination of watery milk and someone whispering chai from a mile down the street.

I ordered avocado toast and selected the chips for $9 the quality of the food was unbelievable.the slice of bread that was served was burnt and avocado was black not bright green I received a pinch of salted chips a corrot that was sliced into 4. We haven’t even discussed how long I had to wait for this undesirable food. And the person working the register goes to put on gloves and prepare food without washing his hands. Never again.
