Nice little shop connected to VCU
Love this place, cashiers are always nice and the drinks are good, only issue is that the chai tea latte tastes kind of watery, and the lattes are really strong.
Cool, little coffee spot in the heart of Richmond. The young lady working was friendly and patiently answered my questions as I am not a big coffee drinker and needed some direction. Decided on an iced coffee, bold and sweet, but not too sharp. Perfect combination. Thank you much.
Really great coffee selection. Great service.
Pour over coffee was fantastic. Very nice staff and comfortable environment.
Nice place and the coffee is great.
Wow 🤩 I always am careful if I am traveling I visit this place. The best pour-over I’ve tried in the USA. I recommend anyone who loves coffee try the Ethiopian beans for pour-over here :)
Great latte and a tasty cinnamon roll
Subtle jazz music showers this sunny coffee shop on Broad. We were welcomed in with a smile, the register attendant was eager to offer suggestions and explain any menu options. We selected a Dirty Chai and a Lord Bergamond British Brunch tea which came out quickly, the warmed cinnamon bun soon followed, it's interior was flaky, buttery, and the frosting provided a balanced sweetness, simply delectable!
Delicious AND beautiful cappuccino. Barista was really sweet and the atmosphere inside was really nice. Good pricing as well. One of the better coffee spots in RVA❤️
Top notch coffee and pastries. The baristas are fantastic and always make you feel welcome. Love this place!!!
Really awesome dirty iced chai with oat milk
Update (1.8.23): uh oh! New ownership! Hopefully they don't ruin this place or, more likely, let it become a kind of sad shadow of what it once was! I think this is probably my favorite shop in Richmond. They consistently have Recluse coffee which is local and excellent along with exciting guest roasters. They'll do a wide variety of pour overs and they'll do them hot OR iced, which I love. And the staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and overall very cool. My one big complaint is that the default iced latte is a cold brew latte. It's nice but very different from one with espresso. I feel like it's as weird as someone giving me an Americano when I asked for drip. Also! I love the idea of a living wage, but $15 an hour is still pretty paltry for city living, so the ability to tip would be nice as well. Still, this place is a must if you're getting coffee in Richmond.
Best coffee in the downtown Richmond area!! The Baristas are always nice. They work with local and fair coffee coffee roasters, and their local pastries are so good (cinnamon popper being my favorite). The cost may seem high to some, but they build tips for their employees into the price so it’s honestly super fair in my opinions. Love supporting businesses that pay their employees a living wage. ☕️🤎 Fun fact: It’s actually cheaper than Dunkin Donuts which is on the same block. Why choose buying from a corporation over a local business? The only wish I have for change is for them to get savory food options, not just sweet pastries. 🤤😋
Absolutely delicious pastries, we had one apple and one cheese Danish. My caramel latte was hot and very tasty. I love how the had hot chocolate for my 10 year old daughter. They made the foam on top beautiful! The service was good and they were very knowledgeable about their menu items. I had never been there before so I asked a lot of questions. They happily answered them. I will definitely be visiting again.
Couple of broken chairs probably should have been removed from the lobby so no one gets hurt. The food was swell, and thank God they don't up charge for no ice black coffee like all the other silly billies in this city.
Amazing knowledgeable and friendly staff. Excellent coffee, good vibes and great music. Tips built into prices so no need to panic at checkout.
Mediocre coffee polite people pretty decent price not much of a selection for food on the menu other than typical pastries and such to go with your. Decent little spot definitely not much room there though it's really cramped in there you kind of want to just get your coffee and go but if you do want to hang out there is a good bookstore next door you can grab a book from and sit down and enjoy a food read. Personally I don't like having to park two or three blocks away just a walk and get a coffee so I wouldn't stop here unless I was already walking by
Got a regular coffee and a croissant. The coffee was very freshly roasted and I haven't had such a good croissant since France. 👍
I adored this Rustic Sheek little spot in the middle of VCU area. The ambience is comfortable and inviting. They even provide books and games, such as scrabble. I loved looking around at the other patrons enjoying quiet conversations over amazing brews. And speaking of which, the coffee was amazing!!! They have a variety of brewing methods and brew to choose from; it was quite an experience. Special thanks to the lovely barista who helped explain the amazing options. We'll definitely be back!
