Not a bad experience just not awesome? My I got an iced coffee and it wasn’t great and my friend got a latte with no foam and there was a ton of foam still in it. This review was purely in regards to their coffee making side, as far as their roasting and grinding coffee beans and their loose leaf tea options they could be excellent I wouldn’t know. I will say they had a hunch of cute mugs available for purchase and a LOT of coffee making vessels but the flip side of that is that they’re a little pricey.
We just brewed a pot of the Sumatran “dark roast of the month” and it is as good as any premium brand I know. Very smooth, no bitterness, and a mouthful of flavors. It’s like breakfast in a cup.
On a really hot day, their iced rose chai was exactly what I needed! It's a cute shop with every coffee/tea accessories you could imagine. The staff were super friendly and helpful as well.
Friendly people. Great coffee. Priced right.
The best coffee shop in Richmond! And tea to.
Dirty chai has been my go to here for years, with or without decaf espresso bc their decaf is still really good! I think they have new staff because the quality and service have changed. I got the same thing I always get and threw it out after they remade it. Im not a picky person but this drink was so watery I think theyre just skimping on the chai. Like I said, I always get this drink so it was unfortunate… Ive been a bartender and server for 6 years so I know what its like to remake drinks and I also know the energy surrounding it. still my favorite coffee spot in rva with no frills and good fresh bean selection!
Greatest coffee shop in RVA!!!
Best and most consistent coffee spot in Richmond! Their chai is my favorite. Great place to get a gift as well!
The people here are so friendly, and that honestly makes a big difference. Kindness is hard to find in this world, especially service jobs (ironically), so thank you! I love the antique coffee roaster and the huge selection of delicious, reasonably priced coffee.
Great latte. Fresh ground coffee is the best in the city. Plus a nice place to get a gift for someone.
Super friendly staff! Plus I loved the strawberry decaf looseleaf I got from them😁
Great place to get your coffee and tea supplies! Super staff that goes above and beyond to make sure your needs are met.
From the moment you walk into this shop, the delightful aroma of coffee greeats you. There is a large selection of coffee and tea to choose from. The staff is attentive and helpful. I purchased four coffees and when I served one last night my guests raved about it. Yesterday was my first time at Rostov's but it definitely won't be my last.
The manager is rude, while shopping with my family trying to pick out coffee the manager asked us to move so other customers could get through. Maybe she needs to change her store around so everyone could shop. It is kind of hard to support small business when you are treated rudely.
Very good local coffee roastery. There are a variety of types of beans and different roasts could I use the local coffee shops and available purchase, as well as a number of teas and blends of teas. There are a limited number of sweets and pastries to accompany your drink. Coffee mugs, pots, and other brewing utensils are available for purchase. There is no indoor seating and limited outdoor seating.
I love it here. The staff is so lovely and pleasant AND the tea is awesome. I got a very nice mug that feels brilliant in my hand. Also, I honestly can't find a better tasting chai in town! I'll be back.
Fantastic place, fantastic staff, fantastic selection and Tammy is wonderful!! We shop there at least once a year for the holidays. Roatov's tea and coffee are sent across the United States.
A Richmond mainstay who delivers solid second wave coffee roasts and vibes. A testament to the late 90s early 2000s coffee scene. But more importantly, one of the few coffee roasters left where quality and value align. They may be the only roaster left who sells a full pound of coffee and not a 12oz bag. All of the roasts are good, but I favor the Mexican for being so well balanced. Highly recommend for both great coffee and for supporting a long standing community business.
Wonderful store for coffee and teas at reasonable prices. A Richmond classic that deserves to stay that way for generations to come. Definitely have to go if you have not yet. They roast, grind, and make their own coffees. They have a respectable tea and glassware selection.
Great coffee. And it was hot! Also great workers they were helpful in answering questions!
