Great coffee shop, I got a cold brew with lavender syrup and oat milk and it was amazing! Definitely recommend. Some of their drink specials are hit or miss though. But in my experience if you don't enjoy something they're more than happy to replace it with a different drink if you aren't satisfied!

Poor service. The employee calling out pick up orders was more focused on chatting over uncovered food with friends than attending a very long line. Then was rude to people that asked questions. Food and coffee was nothing special. Not worth a return visit.

Beautiful light and airy vibe, delicious coffee, and friendly baristas.

Lovely coffee shop with a great vibe. Their oat cappuccino was very nice. It was strong enough and filling. They close so early (3pm) so we couldn’t order any food. Great experience otherwise would definitely recommend !

Nothing special about the coffee or food. The real kicker is the guest wifi has a data logger and kicks you off after an hour with no ability to reconnect, first wave gentro at its finest

We had a wonderful experience here. It was recommended to us by our airbnb host while we were visiting Richmond for the weekend. We consider ourselves avid coffee drinkers, and this place did not disappoint. I'm giving 4 stars on the food only because their breakfast sandwiches are served with a side of oranges and I am highly allergic. I informed the lady taking my order, but I still received oranges. Otherwise this place is a wonderful coffee/breakfast spot. I would definitely come again!

I visited Roastology many times when they were located in Southside, but not so much after they moved to their current location because it is not on my daily path. I was reminded how much I missed them when I visited again. The coffee is just as good and the pastries are delicious (try the marzipan scone), but the built environment is more polished and accommodating. There are lots of varieties of coffee and teas you can purchase to take home. Customers were sitting, chatting, reading, working -- obviously very comfortable being there. During nicer weather, the outside patio fronting Cary Street provides plenty of opportunities for watching life drift by.

UPDATE: Came here on another Friday morning and had a better experience. It depends a lot on what you're here for. A lot of folks do come here to do work, and it's ok if you don't mind a boisterous environment and don't need WiFi for more than 90 minutes. But the people who probably enjoy this space the most are ones who come to socialize, especially now that the weather is nicer. It's okay. A nice little coffee shop with plenty of room to sit, but nothing amazing. The sandwiches were okay, and the hot chocolate was pretty standard. It's in a very interesting location, and I heard a lot of good things about it, but just wasn't amazed by my experience.

The ambiance here is amazing. Love the interior of this place and they have outside seating as well. However, I would not consider this a great place to work or study because it was very busy and full of people socializing. Although, it was the weekend so maybe weekdays are calmer. I had a seasonal Latte. Taste was great- I gave a 4 star because the drink was very warm instead of hot when I received it.

Unbelievably slow for mediocre food and coffee. The coffee is watery and not very strong. Waited in line for 25 minutes and then another 25 for food

Affordable , great drip. Flavor profiles are always bomb when I buy a bag o’ beans. May be worth mentioning, it seemed like the Togo lid took to the heat pretty poorly and could taste the plastic, wasn’t crazy but definitely noticeable.

Housed in a former auto shop, the interior is cool and eclectic. There’s definitely a convivial atmosphere. Warm and inviting. If you’re familiar with Hygge, this place has it. However, the staff aren’t nearly as warm and welcoming as the atmosphere. The woman who took my order seemed indifferent. Not unfriendly, but not welcoming. I found this to be true with the other staff as well. Maybe it’s because I’m not a local. I did witness staff being very friendly and welcoming with regulars. Not a huge complaint, but it did kill some of the vibe they have created in this coffee shop. Regarding food, I ordered a buttermilk biscuit and a drip coffee. The coffee was good, but the biscuit - not so much. It was served cold. Not room temperature, but cold. It came with no butter, no jam or jelly. The biscuit was dense and tough. My final analysis: good coffee, great vibe, but not the friendliest place (unless you’re a regular) with mediocre food. Maybe I hit them on a bad day. Your mileage may vary.

I like this spot! Always friendly and the coffee is really a delicious adventure. Tried the Five Spice Honey Latte (hot) today. First sip was “I think I made a mistake” just creamy foam but, every sip after that has been redemption! Warm spices with a soft honey finish. Smooth and comforting. I needed that. Pricey though, which causes the extra star to stay unchecked.

Roastology is the best option for coffee if you’re looking for a place walking distance from Carytown. Great ambiance with live plants and tons of natural light. The building appears to have once been a garage with large bay doors. It’s cool that you are able to see into the back where they grind the beans. There is also ample outdoor seating for when the weather is nice. Ordered a latte with oat milk and a breakfast sandwich on a bagel. Both were well above average. There was a sizable line when I arrived on a late Sunday morning, but it moved quickly and I had my food within 10 minutes. I would happily return!

To be fair I don't drink coffee. So my rating is based on price and how long I have to stand outside waiting for my wife to come out with some average tasting overpriced tea.

If you’re lucky enough to get to Roastology, do so! While enjoying a nice single origin espresso shot and and couple delicious iced lattes we were even more impressed with the incredible selection of in-house fresh roasted bagged beans! Went in around 10am on a Sunday morning to a fairly long line but they chopped it down quickly with an efficient pro staff! If you’re a coffee aficionado like me this is a must try. They also offered their beans for sale online which is great! Methodical fans will love this place!

Very bad service from the cashier. I was there in the area to order my coffee and for more than 5 minutes the cashier only spoke to 3 customer friends, they did not order anything, they only talked about personal things. In the end, I left very disappointed in the place. It looks like a nice place but employees like these are the ones who discredit any business.

Very bad attention, the cashier never attended us because she was talking all the time with other friends. I love knowing coffees and I wanted to know this one.
