This a really solid breakfast/ brunch cafe. It's everything you'd imagine a cafe to be. Its cozy, charming and chill atmosphere makes you feel like you're at home. There's nothing like a local store front that gets it right. I really enjoyed this place. I'll be back.
Nice local cafe bush with quick baristas. Breakfast fare is good.
Lift is definitely one of my favorite coffee shops in town! Their iced chai is absolutely delicious and their baristas are always so kind. The food is also great! Get a grilled muffin (you won’t regret it)! Their sandwiches are also great
I got the banana bread latte, and it surprised me how good it is😍 The staff was very welcoming and friendly too🥰 Will definitely be back again💯
Nonchalantly hip place. Great bagel, great chai tea. Recommended.
Sausage egg and cheese breakfast sandwich on a croissant was so good.
Nice little coffee shop in downtown Richmond. Easy walk on a nice morning or afternoon from the Jefferson and Graduate hotels.
Great taste of coffee. Just right on the main road. Easy to stop and grab my morning Latte 👍
What a brilliant breath of fresh air in the Art District. The location is central, the staff is an eclectic mix of beautiful misfits who are passionate about the product they produce. The food is phenomenal. Sundays are long lines, but everyone in line is one of your neighbors, so say "Hello." I see why they've named it "LIFT" because it really does LIFT your spirits when you visit. When I visited late in the morning this Sunday, They had run out of the bagel I wanted, which forced me to quickly choose something else off the menu... Let me tell you it made my experience even better. Not since moving from Europe have I had a proper croissant. LIFT makes a proper croissant: flaky but crisp, buttery but not messy, a chewy texture that seemingly evaporates way too quickly with each chew, leaving me craving another bite. (Get the croissant.) Brilliant place. Tip your service staff, they earn it.
Great service, and do yourself a favor, get the banana bread latte, delicious!
I wouldn't go here if it was the last coffee shop in Richmond. Owner is a snake undercutting new hires by turning them into temporary laborers for cheap. Offering an insulting wage for starters then denying them tips for two week training when the intention was to just let them go. The only one winning here is her wallet and the old pretentious staff that gatekeeps people out of jobs for not fitting into their clique. There are better coffee shops in this city with far more community involvement and outreach, and faster service with a full staff at that.
Was excited to eat here after reading reviews. Glad the food was good because the atmosphere was not. We got a turkey panini w/ yogurt, the spicy sausage, and a coffee ($36, but the price you pay for good food). We ended up eating it cold since there was no seating indoors and we needed to take it out. Only 3 tables to sit at inside and people were working on laptops. Raining outside so the patio wasn’t an option. We waited a while for our food and the indoor space wasn’t very appealing. Food was very good even though my sausage sandwich was folded up in the wrapper it was heated in and tossed in a bag. Our other sandwich was in a box so I’m not sure what makes them decide how to wrap sandwiches. I wouldn’t recommend if you’re just dropping in and are not a local.
Ordered the coffee with baileys. Couldn’t taste any baileys. Ordered an extra shot for an extra $5. So stingy and still can’t taste any baileys. $17 for a boozy coffee is such a scam.
Lattes are too inconsistent! I come here on Saturday mornings with my art friends to get coffee to go. I love the unique latte flavors here. One week the lattes are the best in the city; the next week they are too bitter with little flavoring. I guess it depends on who the barista is on the morning you go. If you go on Saturday mornings, I advise you to taste your lattes before leaving the coffee shop to make sure the flavoring is correct. They drinks are too expensive to be inconsistent.
Amazing experience. The people are great and the food will not disappoint.
Love this place for breakfast sandwiches when I forget to pack myself something to eat at work! I absolutely love the feta, spinach, provolone, and egg on a croissant, and the strawberry and brie croissant. I also love the breakfast burrito, and the availability of the vegan sausage substition. I leave 4 stars because I dig the place, the employees are very nice, and although food is good, the coffee needs attention. I've gotten a bunch of iced lattes here usually with added flavor (each flavor is about 75 cents for vanilla or hazelnut.) but I never taste the sweetness. My coworkers and I all have gotten coffee here and everyone agrees they need to taste their own coffee and adjust the recipe. All I taste is coffee and oat milk. Which is fine, I'm not usually one to go for the sweetest drinks in the world. Like Dunkin' is absurdly sweet. I just want to taste the vanilla I paid for though. My coworker got an iced mocha and they could barely taste the mocha. We all had to dump sugar in our cups just to bring the flavor out, and I don't know who loves to readjust their coffee after they've paid $5+ for it. I wish when you online order you could request a level of sweetness or something. Otherwise, great place, they just need to make their flavored drinks actually have the flavor that was requested.
Servers were so busy gossiping that they forgot to put in my order, I had to go make them put it out from their computer. Horrendously lazy server and bad service.
This place is epic good. 10 ..10 would recommend.
Coffee and oatmeal were awful. Just bad all around and disappointing.
It was so nice 😊
