This place is wonderful! Delicious drinks and pastries (please keep the poppers they are the best!!), but above all super friendly staff and owner. Always a pleasure to spend time there!

Put plainly, this place is dope. I've enjoyed standard and experimental caffeinated drinks as well as wine and beer at Fuel Pump--all wonderful! The quality of the wares is only second to the service. The proprietor's passion for his craft is obvious at every turn. And the welcoming space and atmosphere further complement the team members' friendly disposition. I hope to see Fuel Pump become more popular in the future as no other nearby coffee shop offers a comparable experience.

Great experience for my wife and I stopping here for coffee and tea recently! The owner offered -- insisted, really -- that my wife try several different iced tea flavors before she settled on one that she loved, and I got to try the excellent cold brew before picking it. This might have been the only time tipping at a coffeeshop has ever felt like it was deserved, rather than just an extra cost on top of what I'm buying. Excellent product, excellent service, and the location (inside and on patio) was very nice.

Best coffee shop in RVA. Aaron and his team have completely revamped the experience - they've renovated the patio, they're now open daily, and the staff is amazing. My pup and I are here all the time. Check it out!

I strolled in after walkibg through Carytown in search of a cup of coffee. I ended up ordering a fine glass of African chardonnay and parked myself in the pleasant streetside patio to write. After a while Aaron, one of the partners, came out to introduce himself and top up my glass free of charge. Much appreciated! Lovely pkace and I will come back again.

Such a cute little spot to have a coffee or a wonderful lemonade with lavender. Cool vibes, amazing staff and the owner was so welcoming. Make sure to pop in when in Carytown you won’t regret it!!!

This place brings the comfort of home in a cup. The owner Aaron is so personable and warm. Grateful to have been given the opportunity to try out a new spice syrup in my typical matcha now titled “Ball of Sunshine”. Great outside seating at a fun corner on Cary. Come here to hang with friends or get work done. Highly highly recommend. ✨

Loved my experience at Fuel Pump! Aaron is so friendly and took the time to find a drink that worked for my dietary restrictions. The coffee was delicious, the atmosphere was inviting, and everyone was nice. I’ll definitely be returning!

So I'm in Richmond for a first visit and everyone tells me Carytown is a must see location with restaurants, shopping and other eclectic stops. After walking a while, my wife and I needed a cool drink and wanted a place with covered outdoor seating. My eyes soon spotted the Fuel Pump....it was just what we needed and more. Soon after ordering some drinks, we met the manager Aaron for some of the very interesting backstory on the Fuel Pump. I suggest you stop by and get the story yourself with some refreshing fuel and interesting main street corner vibe.

Best iced coffee I’ve ever had. Nice atmosphere, and a good vibe right as I walked in. Super nice guy Aaron running the show. Excellent place!

Went over Easter Sunday during their open hours, and they were closed. I checked their socials too, nothing indicating they wouldn't be open. Disappointing.

While waiting in line to order sourdough bagels from Chewy’s Bagels, my wife ran over to Fuel Pump to get a latte for her and a chai latte for me. Tempting to stay on the outdoor patio, we brought the drinks over to us. Her latte was average and my chai latte was too.

Rude service. The short woman gave me an exaggerated look like I was stupid for wanting to add my own cream and sugar. Then she refused to take cash but let me count it out before telling me that. (What kind of business refuses cash?} Also, the coffee isn't very good. It's thin and tasteless. So I won't be coming back to this disappointing place.

I want to like this place so much, that's why I'm giving it 5 stars. The staff are always great, their coffee drinks are delicious, and they actually have real cold brew. Fuel Pump could be one of those great gathering spots that makes a neighborhood special. But y'all, those open hours are crazy. They're not consistent from day to day, and what kind of coffee shop opens at 9 am or 10 am? The posted hours don't seem to be accurate either, I've walked by twice over the last week when they said it would be open only to find all the lights off and have to get coffee from 7-11. My suggestions - open at 7 am, step up the pastry game (you're competing with S&T and Minglewood), and then you will be able to achieve the potential of this great team and great space.
