One of my favourite places to come when visiting my girlfriend. Coffee and service is always on point.
I enjoyed my cup of coffee on the beautiful patio space
I got the seasonal pink rose latte served hot this morning for dine in. There are no outlets in case you came here to mess with your ant farm’s UV light, charge your police scanner, plug-in a toaster, or show your friends your lava lamp (if given the necessary 2 hours to heat up [watch out- they close at 2pm]) get there early If you have a battery powered lava lamp. I was sitting at the communal table, great concept by the way, and a kid born in 2002 was having a man do his taxes for him there. It is honestly hard for me to contemplate that people born in 2002 are not only doing taxes- they’re having people do taxes for them. He ‘didn’t know if he was a dependent or not’, that means you’re a dependent, I mean c’mon you’re born in ‘02, you should be in elementary school. This should Be illegal. Do you have a workers permit? Excuse my French
Another former auto shop conversion. Great atmosphere, lots of sunshine coming in through the large windows. The aesthetic makes me think of Danish modern industrial. Cozy and inviting. The staff are nice enough. The coffee is excellent and the muffin delicious. Lots of locals hanging out and chatting, also quite a few take out orders. It was busy, but not overwhelming. There is a large community table in the main area, and a few smaller tables toward the back of the shop. The community table design makes me thing of a Kindergarten lunch/art table. An odd choice for a coffee shop, but somehow it works. Food offerings are limited to muffins, coffee cakes and cookies. No hot breakfast served here.
There are two prices for a matcha drink, 5 and 6 dollars. I asked for the $6 assuming it was larger. When I received my drink, it was a small. I asked if it was a large and the women behind the bar got noticeably irritated, saying there is no large. I asked why I paid more and she said she gave me more milk, this time even more annoyed I asked yet another question. So I asked if the small version would only fill the cup 3/4 of the way. At this point, she clearly hated me. Basically, I should be happy I was ripped off. Overpriced, rude and pretentious. Please either make it clear there is only one size, or be nice when someone is confused and asks a simple question. Fortunately, just a few doors down, I found a coffeeshop called Rostovs. It is SO much better. The baristas are so friendly and welcoming, you can watch the antique coffee roaster do its thing, and an actual large matcha (16oz) is only 4 bucks! They couldn't believe when I told them how much I paid for the measly small cup I got at Blanchards!
It's ok. They're trying out new things all the time. Location is prime. Edit: much better now. Feels like a real coffee shop.
Best oat latte I have ever had !!!
Legit best cappuccino I've had in this city in a VERY long time. Haven't had one this good since 10 Italian Cafe closed.
Great little coffee shop! Close to VCU Campus. They have an outdoor patio as well. Good selection of coffee and you can even buy bags for home!
Seriously good coffee! The latte is just like an Australian flat white. So happy to find this place 2 minutes walk from our BnB.
Blanchard’s is the best! From the affordable, absolutely delicious coffee—iced, chai, latte, you name it!—to the refreshing carbonated beverages selection, Blanchard’s is the ideal neighborhood coffee spot. The retro vibe, friendly staff, and comfortable seating make this place a must-go in Richmond. My partner and I went twice in as many days just to try more of what Blanchard’s has to offer. We’ll be returning next time we’re in RVA, highly recommend!
I would give it 6 stars if I could! The way they brew their coffee and ice coffee is nothing short of magic. Friendly service. Clean place. Cute and plentiful seating insides and outside. 10/10 rec
most delicious coffee & friendliest baristas! my favorite coffee in richmond ☺️
Edit to add: The indoor seating area is now open, with an awesome cafeteria-style community table as well as a few other small tables. It is clean and beautiful and well worth a visit! The Morris St cafe is its own unique little gem in the already glistening collection of Blanchard’s cafes. As of the writing of this review, it is takeout only with no indoor access, but there is outdoor seating both in the cafe patio and the adjacent city park. What makes this cafe special is the rotating themed menu in addition to all of the coffee shop classics. The Morris cafe chooses a region or a theme to highlight each month and builds an unforgettable menu of snacks and specialty drinks around that theme. The staff are super friendly and knowledgeable and can make great recommendations if you’re not sure what you’re in the mood for. All Blanchard’s cafes have oat milk and a small selection of vegan snacks. Great single origin batch brew, pour overs, and espresso beverages are available. 100% worth a visit.
Friendly staff. I had a delicious chai latte.
My favorite Blanchard's location, they're all great but I like the vibe here the best!
Can't beat a $1.00 coffee!
They maintain a discriminatory policy of not accepting cash for purchases.
The spring blossom iced latte was absolutely delicious! Great coffee, kind staff, and a super cute seating space, both indoors and out. Looking forward to trying more drinks here!
Wonderful little coffee shop! The drinks are very delicious and the chocolate chip cookies were so tasty!
