Cross-country skied here from the Trapp Family Lodge. What a wonderful experience, great to have a destination. Gentleman working there lives on premise. He was a treat to talk too. I found some Chaga mushroom on the birch tree outside, and he gave me some hot water for chaga tea. Was fun to meet the other skiers, while sitting on the porch, watching the birds.
Very cozy and delicious soup and bread. If you’re skiing the trails, it’s a must stop.
Great ski. Enjoyed a picnic lunch inside by the fire! Definitely doing this again!
Nice staff, hot soup after a long climb from the Stowe Nordic center

seasonal mountain cabin; see website for availability...
This is a great stop on a beautiful ride.
Whether you arrive by skis or snowshoes, it's been a climb. The Cabin provides soup, sandwiches, snacks along with a crackling fire, cozy tables and an upbeat and attentive staff. In all, an ideal, mid-tour stop to warm up and refuel.
Enchanting! Great for families!! Has a fantastic cross country range with 40 miles of tracks. 15 minutes to Stowe downhill skiing. Make their own bread and beer, all very good. Three options for lodging: rooms in the lodge, guest house cabin-like 2 bed room appartments and larger villas. If you are a Sound of Music fan you will enjoy staying in an Austria inspired environment, The lodge was started by Maria and her family and their hospitality certainly continues to be present today.
This place is awesome. Dragged some friends up on a beautiful February morning. The veggie chili and fresh baked bread was awesome.
100% worth the effort to get to. Warm and welcoming, homemade soups and sandwiches, stellar setting.
Great place with a wonderful staff. Been here twice, and am definitely going again.
