I came here at the recommendation of a friend. When I arrived I was promptly greeted and in less than five minutes I had been given a tasting spoon of a stunning goat cheese and a tasting of rosé. I was guided adeptly along the process of finding a bright wine to partner with the unseasonably warm weather that I could enjoy after a full day of adventures hiking and biking. Once I’d settled on a bottle of white for myself I sought guidance on a bottle for a friend to give a a gift. I decided I’d like to select a bottle from a women-owned winery or female vintner. Not only were they able to give my a handful of options, there was a local Vermont winery they had several varieties from. I opted to gift a bottle of (as my friend later called it) “pink bubbles.” The breads looked too good not to get so I also picked up a stunning rosemary focaccia to accompany the wine. I will absolutely be back when I’m in town. The staff was so exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable and gave options on style and price while not being overwhelming. The only similar wine and cheese shopping experience I’ve had is at Zingerman’s in Ann Arbor, Michigan. This was like a really quaint and mellow Vermont equivalent.
Loved this little shop! Fabulous breads, spreads, cheese. Friendly staff was very knowledgeable. Really cute building and indoor area.
Huge selection of imported cheese. Very nice staff that took a lot of time educating us and giving us some back round on the production of some of the cheese. Definitely worth stopping in.
Super fresh breads and pastries. Try the paprika chips!!
Love, love shopping at Dedalus! Cheese Mongers are extremely passionate and knowledgeable of there products! Live how they pair cheese and other products together! I am part of the Market Club and always look forward to picking up new items! I love their Chai and their pastries and meals are out of this world! They always have very fresh baked bread! Please check them out! Kirsten
They no longer keep regular store hours, they have removed closing time from the hours on their front door. If you set out to visit them, be sure to call ahead to check if they’re open, or just go somewhere else. The unreliability is proving to be a real inconvenience!
Wonderful staff. Great selection of wine, cheeses. Highly recommend.
Weird experience here. The woman who helped us pick out some wine was very helpful and attentive. We spent $120 on 2 bottles of wine. When we tried to get some cheese and meat for a small charcuterie the woman behind the cheese case was kind of rude. Before we even spoke she said that they require 48hr notice for a cheese board, but offered nothing else. We just wanted a few cheeses and meats in small portions for the 2 of us. Both of the people behind the cheese case were pretty much just standing around, so I’m not sure why they wouldn’t have been able to just accommodate that. If your entire business is wine and cheese, I’m not sure why you wouldn’t be able to provide those two things to a walk in. At this price point, I would expect better customer service. Disappointing experience.
Great choices and great people
Disappointing. The website says they close at 8. The sign on the door says they close every day at 8. Arrived a little after 7 to locked doors and dirty looks from the employees for trying to open the door. How hard is it to update your website or the sign in your door?
Website says you close at 8. Your door says you close at 8. We got there at 730 and the doors were locked. Update your hours and save people wasted time driving there please.
Fantastic cheese monger with knowledge and recommendations. Got me to have a sparkling sweet wine which paired nicely with one of the cheeses, had low alcohol, and was only $26.
Such fun energetic workers! Love the selection of cheeses and prosciutto! Wines are great too.
Helpful staff guided us around the wine and helped us make a savvy purchase when we didn’t know what we were doing
Pastry to die for!
Cheese, pate, croissants everyone should try, bread & sandwiches
Out of this world pastries. Surprisingly good. Picked up a number of cheeses too that we will enjoy before dinner. The staff were knowledgeable and helpful in both the wine and cheese sections. Great spot.
Best bread in Central VT, period!
Best pastries on the mountain road and a wine selection that cannot be beat! Do not miss out on this stop!
Great baked goods!
