Sheltered here from the rain on a cold & rainy day. The sandwich was ok, pastry was good and got a steamed cider. Seating area was big, clean bathroom and nice paintings on the wall.
Wonderful staff and excellent coffee. Inside/outside seating.
I bought 2 strawberry roulade “cakes”. Total $15.00. Ok it’s a little pricey but I’ll pay it because they look so good. They were bland and had a waxy, oily “frosting”. The only flavor was the itty bitty piece(s) of strawberry. I think the baker forgot the sugar. I will not buy again.
Been here a few times & other locations as well. The snacks/baked goods are always really good. I was disappointed with the smoothie I got today - 1st time getting a smoothie here. It was supposed to be tropical with mango, pineapple, banana & coconut water but it just tasted like banana ☹
Pretty cool coffee spot in Stowe's main road. My iced black coffee was solid.
Wonderful fruit smoothie and sandwich. Terrific location and pleasant inside space.
My man Devin is always pulling through when he works in the Stowe location. He always gives great recommendations!
Reliably well brewed coffee with dark roast and decaf options.
Great coffee! Lattes and drip coffee are all quite good. Great selection of baked goods as well.
Awesome coffee selection. Knowledged staff. Good vibes
Little snicky the way they ask for a tip when you are automatically charged 10% convience fee(tip).
Great coffee and pastries! Comfy place to sit and read, with a cool atmosphere.
Our morning ritual when staying at the green mountain inn. Great coffee and muffins. I’m sure everything is probably great:). My only recommendation would be to use real eggs in a pan when making the sandwiches. Pretty sure these are made from a container and microwaved. There is a big difference in taste between the 2. Thanks
Food was expensive. Not a lot of options for breakfast. Place was swamped. I would look for another option before going back.
10% service fee was added to the bill. It's totally fine to raise your listed prices by 10% if that's needed, but to hide it as a fee is intentionally deceptive. Latte was ok but mediocre for the (listed) price
Great atmosphere and location. Breakfast and Lunch menus are great.
Black Cap Coffee and Beer in Stowe, VT is a must-visit for coffee and food lovers. Their cold brew is smooth and perfectly balanced with just the right amount of sweetness and bitterness. The bacon egg and cheese sandwich is delicious, with crispy bacon, perfectly cooked egg and melted cheese. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is cozy and inviting. Highly recommended!
Gary had the The Smokehouse = ham & cheese sandwich and said, "it was the best." I had The Dope. It was a great BLT w avocado...yum. Great spot to grab a bite and linger while in Stowe village.
Took my very picky partner here for breakfast. They are usually a plain coffee kind of person, but they decided to get the almond joy mocha latte. Success! They also loved my raspberry mocha. The flavors were very much present but weren’t heavy and didn’t make the coffee overly sweet which was awesome. They had an eclectic assortment of bakery items (which I loved), and the breakfast sandwich I got (the sunrise Gouda) and the breakfast burrito my partner got were smaller portions and pricey (but average cost for Stowe) but SO AMAZING and worth every penny for the amount of flavor packed into them. The service was pretty quick for being packed, the staff was friendly, and the coffee area with lids and stuff was well stocked. Very clean with plenty of seating as well. Highly recommend this place if you enjoy flavored coffees and tasty treats!
This establishment charges, without customer knowledge, a “bakery tax” So the regular state tax 10% on top of another 10%. It seemingly is a hidden fee as one patron asked why two cups of coffee and a couple croissants was over $30. The manager came over and told the man it was a “bakery tax” and the gentleman was like, “the bakery has a separate tax?” And then the manager back stepped and said, “well no, it’s not a tax but a fee” Pretty sure hidden fees for consumers are federally illegal. Buyer beware. The coffee ain’t that good!! RESPONSE: Becoming the “normal” instead of just being transparent with your customer base? You instead raise the prices all sneaky-like. If there was a sign, fine legal. But is it ethical? I say no way. But to each his own.
