my favorite americano is waco! roasted by them. so baller!!!
Moca was fantastic?
Immediate takeaway - the absolute most creative coffee stand. It's in a vintage elevator! Simple, elegant, quirky, one-barista Cafe. Great drink selection for the size and resources available. The barista seemed to be a bit distant, not the warmest, but, may have been me. Drinks were well timed, but the dirty chai I got was not sweet at all, surprisingly. Not the worst, just unexpected for the flavor. Overall, a great little place in a historic building with cool vibes and good brews.
Great London fog and i loved the atmosphere
Good espresso and friendly staff.
Cute cute shop. So many places to sit. The girl working not sure of her name (curly hair chick) was very friendly. Enjoyed our drinks!!
Escaped from the chaos of Magnolia Markets to this tranquil oasis of inspiration. Coffee counter is an a 1na 1920's lift. Lovely break
the employees are great, the way the owner treats them is irredeemable and he should be ashamed of his words and actions. [old review left for posterity] (fair warning, i use to work here. as such, i waited about a year from my employment to post this review) i love the attention to detail that the employees will put into the drinks and how much they care about each customer. the pseudo-european aesthetic is what originally brought me to trying them out and i love the atmosphere they have, the seats are not the most comfortable for long stays though. a big plus is having bike racks though!
I’m always a fan of supporting excellent people who create world class products. That’s Brû. The ownership and staff are top tier and constantly working to improve the atmosphere and product. The atmosphere is cozy and diverse. Whether you’re working or grabbing coffee with a friend, I highly recommend this shop.
Unique place, I really liked everything about it
Really nice worker and vibe. The coffee and tea was amazing. I’m a coffee lover but definitely the tea was top tier.
I am not a huge fan of the coffee from BRU, but their scones are AMAZING. Best scones in Waco!
Incredible coffee, fabulous ambiance, and such an amazing repurpose of the unused elevator in this building. I would move into one of the lofts just to have this place so close! We stopped for a quick drink on our way to Nebraska and it was worth the extra time 100 times over!
Tiny place but the coffee was good
My mom and I stop through Waco when driving across the country and we try a new coffee place every time. Bru didn’t disappoint!! Sarah (not sure if I spelled correctly) was so kind and knowledgeable, and made one of the best dirty chais I’ve had in a long time. I have an insane list of allergies and she helped me find 2 great drinks. I also got a honey latte with oat milk. My mom got the earl grey crème tea and loved that as well. Will definitely be back!!
A unique espresso machine in a welcoming and friendly shop. The espresso counter is setup in the lobby and sitting area is in the store across. While googling for an espresso shop during a short trip to Waco, the local aspect stood out. Thankfully i was rewarded with a great espresso from a one of a kind custom made machine. I was also tempted to try the “Hot” chocolate truffles and after being in Texas for too long I thought they were “spicy hot” chocolate truffles but they actually were named for “hot chocolate” drink LOL. Still they were good after I got over my disappointment. Now I need to rush and get some Lammes Habanero Pecan Pralines to make up for the miss:-)
Good coffee and the ambiance is top notch
Super friendly and comfortable. Love the aesthetic and the coffee is fabulous.
(9/7/21 - A short disclaimer - I come here multiple times a week for a coffee-d up work experience and have been doing so for the past year.) It's a great little coffeeshop in an interesting old building. The coffeeshop has been pieced together from a front entryway, an abandoned elevator shaft, and half of a retail space shared by a crafts/art store. It sounds a bit goofy but it works really well; high ceilings, good ambiance, a ton of natural light. It's a cozy place to meet up or get some work done. And, the coffee is solid. I usually get the breve which none of the other shops offer (Correction 9/7/27: most of the other coffeeshops will make a breve for you, but few put them on their menu). And, while drink size can be a little inconsistent, it's very tasty. A reviewer or two has made mention of how loud it can get - this may be true, but it's certainly quieter than both local establishments Dichotomy--half the space is a bar--and Pinewood--a perpetual hipster vinyl block party. My only real complaint is regarding the uncomfortable chairs - they're all light, wooden, patio type folding chairs which get uncomfortable quickly. (I've fixed this by bringing my own seat pad) However, as opposed to a couple other coffee shops in Waco, I've never had a problem getting seating. A great little shop.
Great place to study and work. Coffee was fantastic. Environment was great.
