A pretty standard book store / coffee shop combo. It's probably a decent place to study if you're still in college. However, as I was wandering around the book isles, I overheard a couple of employees talking about how they were so excited to show case Young Adult Pro Trans / LGBTQ books for June. Aka = they are super excited to curate a collection of child grooming books to specifically target the children who are brought into the shop. The exposure of such major adult themes to children is grooming and arguably child abuse. It is extremely inappropriate and should not be accepted, let alone celebrated by staff members (publically on the sales floor, no less). I sincerely hope that the owners / operators of this shop agree that sexualizing and grooming children is wrong and that they are working to prevent that kind of behavior in their establishment. The purity of childhood innocence and imagination should be protected and not intentionally destroyed by strangers. I would have hoped that a bookstore would understand that. Stop sneakily selling propaganda to kids and get back to just book.

Great place to peruse books, play chess, relax, and have a glass of wine.
It would be tough to find a better curated or more friendly bookshop. Cannot recommend stopping here enough. A must see!
Such a sweet shop and cafe. I really enjoyed browsing their selection of books and gifts.
I LOVE fabled. The atmosphere is always fantastic. Grab a coffee or a glass of wine and wander through the shelves of books for purchase. Good atmosphere for getting work done or studying as well. A must visit for all book-lovers and coffee-drinkers in Waco.
Such a charming independent bookstore. Kids and adults alike will love the Narnia themed wardrobe that leads to the kid's book section. Wonderful selections of books and gifts. The coffee bar is a great addition. The cold chicken salad was a perfect snack on a warm afternoon.
My first time turned into my favorite waco bookshop. Definitely Page Turner approved
You must visit this most charming bookstore! This shop is packed full of the most wonderful books, with the coziest seating, the yummiest drinks, and the most clever decorations! ... Not to mention, the friendliest staff!

Great bookshop! They have literary inspired coffee drinks and wine available in the evening. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It was populated by a lot of Baylor college students and I can understand why. Make sure to check out clearance towards the back, the children’s room, and the surprise book options at the front. Hope to come back if I’m ever in Waco again!

Really cute and cozy. They have a really good selection of books and drink options. I personally like their specialized drinks based off of books.
First time today - we met with Elizabeth, the book whisperer, and she had me pegged in a half hour! Great ambiance, great selection, amazing staff! Thank you for the experience - will absolutely be back soon!!!
Fantastic!! Great selection of books, their booksellers are so knowledgeable (special shout-out to Elizabeth who helped my friend and I find a giant stack of "new to us" books!). The cafe has a great mix of coffee, sandwiches , pastries, and... wine and prosecco on tap!!! Something just feels wonderful about browsing a bookstore with a glass of bubbly. This will be an auto stop anytime I am anywhere near Waco! ❤️
This is exactly the book shop I envision when I read dreamy books that have a book shop setting in them! It’s beautiful, calming and quaint.
Trendy, tasteful, higher end coffee shop and bookstore. The children's book area tucked away in the back is really nice and interactive for kids to read and play. They do seasonal decorating and book selections so fun to go back at different times to get a new experience.
Such a wonderful little gem of a bookshop! If I lived here, I could spend a lot of time in this cozy atmosphere. Lovely people and a lovely collection of books and book ephemera!
