My husband and I just went to a Greek restaurant in a major city. It had NOTHING on Alpha Omega. We used to go all the time in college and we miss it! If you haven’t been to Alpha Omega, go!!!
We do dinner here often. Chicken Gyro is always excellent. Greek fries are exquisite. Desserts are unique and tasty.
Had the salmon plate with broccoli and rice. Tasted good, but everything was cold.
Delicious fresh food. I personally don’t like the hummus here but all of the other food is absolutely delicious!!!!!! Great food with a good vibe!!!❤️❤️❤️
Food has changed for the worse. Haven't been here in awhile but 2 years ago the food was a 5 star. Today the chicken was dry, cubed, no flavor, messy, to sloppy, over saturated bread, even the tziki wasn't the same. Too bad it's not worth the trip anymore! No thanks not authentic.
Where to start? Their pita bread is baked in house and the best I have ever had. They gyros are very flavorful and amazing due to their pita bread. Lastly their hummus is a must have. When in Waco, eat here!
Seriously the some of best Greek food I’ve ever had!!
Alpha Omega has been consistently fantastic for years. Their gyro is amazing, as is their hummus. Definitely recommend.
Nice, good food, nothing special but decent all around
Food was exceptionally good!! We enjoyed beef gyros, dolmas, baba ganoush, and spanakopita. Can't wait to go back.
4.5 stars. The service is great the staff is really nice the food was good except the meat was a little overcooked and you could tell somewhat on the cheaper side especially the steak. The baked goods were art and homemade by the staff. We will go back
Just incredible food, very friendly and perfect service. Lavash was incredible. Gyros all the way for next visit. Very playful and casual atmosphere with great charm. I cannot wait to come back. One of the fist places in Texas where I got Lavazza expression and it didn’t tasted like twice burned ashes.
This place is great! Food is fantastic, staff is great! We love to eat lunch here a few times a month…
I was surprised by the excellent, well, everything here. If you are looking for that authentic Greek food in Waco, this is your spot. Portions are generous. The hard part is deciding on what to pick. The open kitchen has such wonderful aromas filling the place. Staff is helpful and very knowledgeable with great suggestions on what to try.
Ordered a lamb gyro came back looking and tasting like pulled pork. The service was mediocre at best with the workers seemingly all college students. One and done for me with this spot.
The lady at the counter was the sweetest thing in the world. She was friendly, polite, helpful, and knowledge. Her customer service was exceptional... I order spanakopita, tiramisú, and the chicken gyro. Spanakopita was ok. Deep fried and greasy. You can get better in the frozen food section at HEB. The gyro was disappointing. The chicken was dry, the pita a bit yeasty I'm assuming the dough wasn't rested long enough. The tzatziki was flavorless. The tiramisu was shockingly bad. I was at a lost for words after my first bite. My mouth felt disrespected. I understand the price of food has shot up. Why offer a dessert if you're not even willing to use the proper ingredients. I couldn't taste the slightest trace of mascarpone cheese. There was no egg yolks used at all. This meal shocked me. I didn't know it was possible to have a meal this terrible... If you've never had authentic Greek food you might love this place.
The food is not the best for Greek food. The place was dark, and it did not feel welcoming or warm. The restrooms were dirty.
Edible I have no idea how this place gets such good reviews. The highest praise I can give it is that we didn't throw it away. Food was cold. "Chickpea patties" which I assumed were supposed to be falafel were mushy and undercooked in the center. The pita was also undercooked in the middle. The spread platter we got had a tiny little side serving of each spread. Typically hummus at a Greek place would be a sizable serving with olive oil drizzled on top. This was pretty tasteless. The greek salad was good but was definitely not a greek salad. 1 lone olive and some goat cheese and sad tomato slices. No feta, no peppers, no red onions and the dressing was sweet. Spanakopita was the best thing we got and it was really just ok. The crust tasted deep fried. One "local guide" mentioned it was a good stand in for European donner kebab (which is fast food) and the worst donner I have had was better than this. And it was $45+ for two people
SO tasty, amble seating in or outside (lunch crowd can get tight if it’s too cold to sit outside). I can’t get away from reordering the Chickpea Gyro bc it’s so good. Feta fries are a must, last visit I tried the calamari and hopefully was just a bad batch- pretty chewy & I’m a calamari lover! Lots, if not all food is prepared in house!
Always pleased with A&O! Great authentic and americanized options for Mediterranean!!!! Best in Waco, I think!
