Tucked away in a scenic Texas town, we went to Anters Inn for a romantic getaway. We opted for a caboose, and it's built up like a tiny house while still paying homage to the railroad theme with classic wood paneling and wrought iron features. Little kitchenette for dining in, complete with pots and pans, wine glasses, bottle opener, and dishes. After a night in, you can stroll the grounds, sit by the lake, and enjoy some espresso at the coffee house. Nearby restaurant a short walk away, or quick drive to some bbq in town.

Friendly and helpful staff! The room was clean and cozy and we enjoyed being able to walk the property and sit in the rocking chairs at the hotel. Hooper’s was lovely. The staff was attentive and the food was really good. We would love to return in the future!

We had a great time at the Antlers Inn. Our cottage was cute and clean, and the bedrooms were a good size. We enjoyed the view of the lawn and trees from the back porch and had a great time paddling in the lake with the kayaks provided by the Inn. Overall, we had a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

Staying in a “caboose” has been part of my YOLO bucket list and it was great! I had the best sleep I’ve had in MONTHS! It was so peaceful and serene. In the morning, I climbed up and sat in one of the observation chairs and read while listening to the birds. Very relaxing. I really enjoyed talking with the gentleman that signed me in and out. He was so helpful and friendly . I need to call again to inquire about the mattress. Best night sleep I’ve had!

Beautiful old inn. Room/suite was huge and bed very comfortable. Loved that Hoopers was across street. Great base for Hill Country exploration

We had our family reunion at The Antlers Inn and it was fabulous! Some of my family stayed in the main hotel, some in the "Wild Plum" bungalow, and I stayed in the "Green Caboose" - the rooms were just lovely and the caboose was so fun! "Hooper's", the restaurant on the property, was so handy and the food was delicious - they really went out of their way for all of us and made our big supper gathering on Saturday night perfect! We got to use the conference room, which was a big room in another beautiful old house on the property - it made our reunion perfect. Thank you so much for everything - I can't wait to return to The Antlers Inn!

This is a great place to stay and to host a party. Bret & staff were accommodating in every aspect of the stay. Up front and honest, providing above and beyond what a property would normally provide for my mother’s 90th birthday celebration. We were able to have people stay on the property that were from out of town, along with close to 100 people coming by to enjoy the afternoon. Next time I am in Kingsland I will definitely go back and stay. Hoopers has good food and can’t wait to try the new stake house when it is finished being built with outdoor community area.

We would have loved to stay longer. This place, the grounds, the town, and the history are superb. I think it will be the heart of a major renaissance in Kingsland, Tx. Look out Fredericksburg.

Best vacation ever. I was greeted warmly by Amy, who shared with me the history of the hotel and restaurant across the street, Hoopers. She and I talked at length about the beautiful architecture and the peaceful location. In the evening, Bret the innkeeper kept the atmosphere of hospitality by discussing more about the hotel's history (and sharing pictures) and told me the lore of the ghost that haunts the hotel (she's friendly). At Hoopers (the restaurant across the street and location where a Texas chainsaw massacre was filmed) had delicious food and drinks, and Ashley and William were delightful bar tenders! I originally stayed here because I wanted to stay in the red caboose (which was an incredible experience in and of itself), but the amazing people I met here and the beautiful hotel and grounds kept me in awe my entire trip. The grounds are well manicured with many places to sit in the shade and relax. Flowers were in full bloom during my visit, and down a little path was full access to the lake! From the time I got my coffee in the morning at the cafe (shout out to Jordan who makes an amazing caramel macchiato) to the end of the day when I was watching the stars from the train window, I enjoyed every minute. Antlers Inn is a place I would recommend to anyone who plans to visit the area. A truly wonderful and memorable trip, I plan to visit again very soon!

Once again, we chose The Antlers for some historic ambiance, peaceful sleep and a chance to relax on the expansive porch!! As was the case three months ago on our first visit, Brett was an extremely warm and gracious host even though our arrival was very 'spur of the moment'. Thank you, Brett, for aways making us feel at home. I tell everyone I know about The Antlers.

I stayed here with a group of friends and it was such a nice place! The staff were so kind and felt more as friends than people who worked there. The rooms were spacious, super clean and comfortable and the grounds were beautiful. We ate at the restaurant and that was a treat in itself. They have a killer burger that you must try! They also have a great craft cocktail menu too! As you walk around the property and the Inn, you feel like you have stepped back in time. Take some time to look at the old photos, read about the history and just enjoy the space. They have modernized but also kept the integrity of the history which is so important. I highly recommend staying here and taking time to chat with the wonderful staff. We will be back again and again!
