We love love love this restaurant and have been coming for 15+ years since it was in its old location. Everything is yummy and we always enjoy our servers and the wonderful coffee ☕️ they make. It’s at the back of shelter cove and definitely worth a visit!
We were a large party on vacation and Jack was a wonderful server! He was attentive to us and made it an excellent experience. Delicious food and an adorable atmosphere made this a restaurant we’ll come back to again!
Slow; but more importantly the desert crepe was 18$ and was like 1/4 of the “savory” crepe that were actually stuffed with something and yet cost the same. French toast game was weak, 90% bread, 1% egg, 9% Canned Peaches and syrup. Place is pretty small and cramped, not their fault obviously but would not recommend going with kids or babies.
NO stars. we waited for over an hour, only to finally sit down and find out they HAVE NOTHING. They were not able to make burgers fries, or anything hot. No one informed us, no one even mentioned it they just started at us waiting, wasting our day away while we could have been somewhere else. DO NOT eat here.
Extremely slow and rude service the woman taking our order seemed annoyed to be helping us or that we would dare ask her questions about the unlabeled items in the case. I would absolutely not recommend them and will not be coming back.
They increased the price tremendously. Menu taken on May 2023 - cup of coffee cost $8 and eggs $18 above. Poor service
First time back since summer of 2019 and I was pretty surprised at the price increases. Saw previous posts mentioning the same. And while I know supply chain impacts it, it’s hard to justify a sandwich costing $18 and black coffee and iced tea each just pennies shy of $5. Two individual tarts and a plain croissant were $25. Also out of ice and two sides before the lunchtime rush. I really hate leaving less than positive reviews, but hopefully this will be helpful in case you’re thinking of bringing your family’s because while it’s expensive for restaurants, it’s expensive feeding our families as well.
Amazing foods and desserts!! Great location and they have nice outdoor seating. I highly recommend stopping here
Amazing breakfast! A great find on our vacation to Hilton Head island. Highly recommend.
Pricey but worth it, with good quality breakfast and lunch menu items to choose from. Ordered Crab cakes egg Benedict - solid good, Croque Madame - good, Apple & Brie burger - slightly overcooked, didn't lose the taste though. will come again, just need accumulate funds :)
This place definitely lived up to the reviews and even more some. The staff was very considerate and polite. The food was out of this world. It is a must go to if your looking for breakfast on HHI
The pain au chocolat reminds me of being in Paris! Crisp on the outer crust and so soft and chocolatey inside! Will definitely make this a regular breakfast stop when I’m in the area!
Worst experience I've had in 30 yrs of dining. Rude, rude, rude, insulting and dismissive. It was clear that I bothered the hostess when I stood there waiting to ask for a table. She looked displeased. After 20 min of not being approached by anyone, I went back in to the hostess. She stood with a vacant expression and remained silent. My error that I was waiting for acknowledgement of my being there. Receiving none, I very politely said we'd been waiting 20 min and asked to have someone come by for our order. No response. Then she repeated what do you want, I repeated, and so did she. Then she told me to go sit down. I'd been dismissed and rudely so. Been here before, food quality excellent but very pricey, not a good value.
A welcome surprise! As we were looking for a change from pizza and burgers, a wonderful salesperson recommended we try The French Bakery. She warmed that there may be a wait and there was but we grabbed a perfectly executed coffee at the to go section while we waited for our table to be ready. When we settled in, our server recommended the chicken salad and it was perfect! The bread was a cranberry and apricot soft dough = yumtastic! My husband had the crab benedict. So yummy we forgot to take pictures! Can't wait to go again tomorrow. The menu has many choices!
We were sat, got water and silverware, then waiter never came back. I reminded the staff that our order had not been taken. After 35 minutes, we decided to leave.
When you need a change of pace, this is a great spot. So many subtle flavors that French Cuisine is known for really shine thru here, and the pricing is very fair.
We live coming here. Bakery items are incredible. One item I would stray away from is the French toast. Very bland even with the different sauces available.
Some of the best pastries for sure. Almond croissant was TOO DIE FOR. Fruit tart was absolutely perfect. Mocha was also really good. Any French country side patisserie would be very proud. Merci Beaucoup.
Lovely breakfast with very large portions and conveniently located near some shopping to walk off the calories afterwards.
We came down from NY and tried this place for the first time. The first issue was that the cashier didn't have any bills in the register to give me change for my cash and there weren't any signs to indicate that before I checked out. I had to hold the line and go back to my car to get my debit card. Then, when my crepe came out it was allowed to sit on the side before I had to ask for it. The cashier, a young man, then "pushed" the container over to me instead of handing it over. Knowing it was a "to go" order he also didn't give us a bag until we asked for it. Even when giving us the bag, he didn't put the container in the bag so we had to ask him to put it in the bag. Not great service. I will likely go back at least one more time but hopefully we get a different cashier and they have bills to return change.
