My fiancé and I had breakfast vouchers from The Beaufort Inn for here or the Bagel place. We selected this place. Our timing was perfect, was greeted warmly and the hostess’s cheery demeanor. For breakfast, we both selected the two eggs with choice of protein, toast or choice of bread, grits or hash browns or diced Potatoes. ($11.00 each). My fiancé enjoyed his breakfast immensely. Mine hit the spot. The hash browns weren’t very good (I’m very picky on how my hash browns are cooked, no fault of the restaurant). Our server was On Target. He did a wonderful job! Very attentive. This wasn’t a bad restaurant; we’d eat here again. PS The Carnation given to me for Mother’s Day is a nice touch! Thank you ☺️
Nice little place. Fish n grits were good and everyone was pleased with their food.
USED TO BE... NOT ANY MORE: With new ownership and management, this is no longer outstanding. As of April 2023 I no longer recommend. Food cold, overcooked eggs, defensive management... the list goes on! Server did his best. Original review was: Love love this place. Gluten free options, breakfast all day, great hash browns, very good coffee... All food cooked to perfection, great old time coffee shop...
We had breakfast and I will honestly say that the pancakes were the worst I've ever eaten. I don't know if someone mixed up the batter wrong or what, but they were bad. I also had grits and eggs which were okay. The service was nice and the waitress was very kind. Reason for the 3 stars. We will try again one day.
First time here and it was so good! Definitely will go back.
I hadn’t been to Beaufort since my son got out of Marine Corps. It has been on my bucket list to come spend some time. It is such a lovely city. We ate at the Blackstone and got brunch items. WOW!! The food was great.. the service was fantastic.. what a great place.. made me wish we had something like this at home.. it is for sure our kind of place. If you go to Beaufort put it on your go to place to eat. Thanks to the employees there that directed us to the best place to get fresh shrimp.. that didn’t disappoint either.. what great people!
One of the best restaurants that I have ever been too. I am from Philly and was visiting South Carolina. The owner is wonderful. This place is like no other. The food was sooooo good and the people were cordial. Please if you are in the neighborhood go here, cookies are dynamite and hot chocolate is amazing.
Great service, always. Special meal prep not an issue Clean and inviting . The owner is involved and it shows. Like all owners the resturant has had. You'll like like it.
Excellent spot for a hot breakfast (lunch looks good, too). Hit the spot for us. Good food, good service, reasonably priced. Situated right downtown. We ate and then walked and shopped.
I have been visiting Blackstone's since 1996. Still my favorite breakfast in Beaufort!
Great breakfast spot in Beaufort another must stop while in town. Great service atmosphere was great and food was excellent!
Disappointed. The shrimp and grits were recommended and looked great on the images, but there was absolutely no flavor in them! I would think Cajun shrimp would actually have sufficient Cajun seasoning. I think they consider onion and peppers Cajun because nothing else was. They have no non pork options for meat except corned beef hash so my husband couldn’t eat the chiorzo dip in the shrimp and grits( which is Mexican not Cajun). Instead we would add the corned beef but the corned beef had no flavor either! The only thing that was delicious as the hot chocolate.
The food was okay, the sweet tea was not good . The atmosphere was good.
Sam was a SUPERB waitress....so bad 1st visit I had to go back next day....lol
busy little spot for breakfast but the food was good and the service was decent 🙂
This place is fantastic! Great food, great staff and cool atmosphere. They rang a bell at 8am and everyone stood up and said The Pledge of Allegiance! God bless!
1st here, we were referred by a friend. Food was good & quick.
Go there so you can say The Pledge of Allegiance at 8:00 during breakfast. This country needs more unity like that. The breakfast was excellent as well.
AMAZING FOOD!!! French toast was killer, and the corned beef hash with a biscuit and grits was the PERFECT start to my day!! This was the first place we ate on our trip to SC and it will be hard to beat! Definitely returning to this gem.
Love the fact that every morning they recite the pledge alliance. The food and service are good and the atmosphere is homey.
