Everything you want a coffee shop to be. Post COVID edit: There are fewer employees. The person working the register is also the person that makes the coffee and fills orders. It's an obvious cost-cutting measure that puts the inconvenience on the customer, as they now have to wait for the complete transaction to occur per customer. Not a positive change, thus, my updated review.
Always love it here...the coffee is fire. And the artwork is unparalleled. When I asked for a to go cup, though, I could tell I upset a couple people. 😬 Whoopsy
always love to have coffee at Insomnia. coffee is way better that Starbucks and the service always excellent
Excellent coffee. Limites food menu, yet what they have is quite delicious. It's a great spot to have a coffee and work or lounge.
FOUND THIS PLACE FEW YEARS AGO AND HAVE BEEN COMING HERE EVERY SINCE. The coffee is soooooooooo gooood and my favorite is the blended matcha with honey sauce!! :) they do make great sandwiches and baked goods! Although I really wish they had a bigger kitchen for staff I think this a great location !! The staff are so nice Levi!!**** thank you I come all the time !! LEVI IS THE CUSTOMER SERVICE KING
Great place to hang with the bestie over a nice cup of coffee and have a pleasant conversation.
Very nice staff and gracious when you accidentally pick up the wrong order...
Nice!!!
Customer service was really bad at this location. Waited more than 30 minutes for a Chai Latte and a pastry. The place was not overly busy either. The worst part was, what I am assuming was the Manager (I am assuming so because she was directing everyone behind the counter) had a bad attitude from start to finish and did not even offer up a simple "Sorry for the wait". I will avoid this place in the future.
My boyfriend and I came here for something warm. My boyfriend got a mocha and I got a hot chocolate they were both delicious. The couch was nice to sit and wait in while looking at many things on the walls. The staff was friendly and it seemed popular!
Subpar flavor compared to other metro area cafes. Still good enough in a pinch, and open later than most. More of a 3.5
What a fun little place to relax and unwind. Comfy seating good service and nice atmosphere all around.
Overall a good place for lunch break coffee with some pastries( they do have a large stock of locally selected pastries). For the pastries, I especially like the scones(warmed, very moisturized inside, just with butter and honey) and the croissant. The rose croissant is extremely sweet so be careful if you are not a dessert person. The only thing I don’t like about this place: the milk foam in cappuccino is always inconsistent, the dark brown foam mixed with the espresso and is extremely bitter. To be honest, just pour the white foam at the top and not holding the pitcher too high would be great.
The staff was top notch and on it! The coffee was amazing and served really hot but not too hot to drink. Amazing.
Friendly workers, tasty coffee and I enjoyed the atmosphere. We enjoyed our drinks on their little outdoor patio!
Good local places that has been around for awhile and continues to deliver. There Aztec Mocha is amazing and there coffee is definitely some of the best. Atmosphere is nice and not quite as clean as I like it. They are always busy and welcoming though. Highly recommend.
It’s a cute place with very tasty Moka 😋
Place sucks - their breakfast sandwiches are warmed up in the commercial microwave oven and are taste less and waste of $7!!! Coffee was weak and tasteless as well, drove out of my to grab a nice cup of coffee & breakfast while in Portland - this place was a total disappointment not sure why the high ratings folks must’ve lost their taste!!
We got the mocha & cappuccino, with the blueberry scone. All delicious, with great service and ambience. Highly recommend!
Crowded. Mat be because of less cool coffee places in this area. Can find more in portland downtown area or near. Average taste. No service. There are other better café if you are a coffee lover. Read my other reviews and you find which ones are best in portland.
