Very cool drink and food options. Staff friendly. Clean.
4/30/23: Today I went with a friend of mine to sit in on her tutoring session at Waterbean Coffee, I tried what’s called the Paradise Iced Latte (this latte has Ube Coldfoam, lavender and brown sugar), my friend got the Vietnamese Coffee (iced). The latte was very tasty and the staff were friendly and able to answer my questions since it was my first visit to Waterbean. My friend also said her coffee was reliable and delicately sweet with the condensed milk. They also have a small display on the windowsill by the ordering area that displays small business products which makes me happy to see small business/small chains support other small businesses. I can’t wait to come back and try other drinks in the future 😁
Higher price, but very good. Even their decaf has good flavor. 1 year update: I haven't tried any lattes or other fancy drinks, but if you want just a basic cup of hot coffee that doesn't need to be doctored up with flavors and sugars, this place is it. I just get half n half in mine, and the coffee itself has such great flavor it doesn't need anything else.
A nice little Hickory Niche. It's not the best coffee place in town but it does have its own identity. The parking is tough, and leaving can be very hard. It's not super kid friendly, and they don't have an area you can really bring them. The Mint Latta was amazing as was the Lox, and at the end of the day that's what matters the most. I wanted to rate this place higher but the service is very average and the flaws from before make it not as good as some of the other places in town.
Wonderful coffee and cute shop!
I wanted so badly to make this cute establishment my new coffee spot. However with the drink I was given thismorning, I won’t be going back. I ordered a small latte with an extra shot, add honey/cinnamon/and whip cream on top -made with soy milk. I’m not sure who made the drink, however they need to be taught how to steam soy milk. Over half of the cup was literal ‘sludge’ consistency.. either they dumped half the container of cinnamon in the drink, or they over steamed the soy milk. To say this beverage was ‘undrinkable’ is an understatement. I wish I had pictures of when I took the lid off to see if it was just the whip cream that was the problem. The entire drink went into the trash once I took the lid off and saw the contents of the cup. I tipped the sweet ladies working their $3 on a $4 drink hoping I would be going back. Unfortunately I can’t say that I would recommend this place to anyone.

I decided to send my friend here to get breakfast for us. I got a bagel , a iced coffee & some macaroons everything was absolutely yummy. Will definitely be ordering here again
Fantastic! Waterbean is an amazing local coffee shop. They care about the quality of their ingredients and are allergy friendly. Great gluten free pastry options and dairy-free milk choices.
Love their Italian cappuccino and the inside has comfy seating.

What great local spot - I had visited 4 coffee shops in Hickory and this is by far the best! Service was so good and my oat milk latte was amazingly smooth and just perfect! My husband got a blueberry muffin that was light and fluffy…we realized after we ordered they had a full menu but what we did try was yummy!
Perfect spot to meet up with a friend for a chat over coffee or tea. Paradise Latte made with lavender & macadamia nut milk was outrageously delicious. Rice krispie treat big enough to share.

This was the first “local” coffee spot we discovered after moving from Florida, and we still have yet to have a bad experience! They have a large selection and this location is usually pretty quiet for those mornings where you are barely moving. The staff are always super friendly and are very creative with some of the awesome drinks they have come up with.
Too much water, not enough bean. Their mocha was a 2/5 if I had to rate it. My partner also had a negative experience with their drink. $10 each, too.

Fantastic latte, friendly baristas, and awesome atmosphere, I didn't try the food yet, but the menu is enticing.. stop by I don't think you'll leave disappointed!
