Warning they will make a matcha latte with mostly water and just a bit of steam milk on top. They said this is the traditional way to make matcha lattes. First I heard of this tradition. Wonder from where?

Arguably my favorite coffee place in Durham. Small, intimate, clean and good espresso.

Nice vibe with tucked away nooks and a large patio. Most seating is for 1-2. They ask that you only work for an hour before freeing up your seat. Good drinks, friendly staff.

Good coffee. Need to finish painting the walls. One bathroom for both men and women in a coffee shop? Come on!

Hidden gem. Homemade chai with option for unsweetened. Lots of tea and espresso options. Very cute clean chill vibe. Small indoor seating options but large outdoor area.

These guys are so sweet period they make a thing called a pup cup period it is a small cup with whipped cream and a dog treat in it. It only cost a quarter and there's a big partially covered patio area where you and your dog can sit and enjoy the day.

Amazing coffee with house made syrups. There are so many plants which provide such a comfortable environment. Also this is an indoor space that welcomes dogs.

We went to Cloche twice on our last trip to Durham and really enjoyed our experience both times. We typically like third wave coffee shops and this was a great one. The people behind the counter were friendly and personable both times. The coffee was flavorful and delicious. It was fall at the time and they offered wonderful home-made syrups with some more popular flavors like pumpkin and maple, but then some more creative flavor profiles with popular flavors plus herbs. They also had some great looking pastries (we didn't try but looked good). I loved their outside seating space which had a nice deck for my kids to play in. They have nice inside seating as well, with an array of hanging plants, and higher ceilings making it feel spacious. I would consider it as a nice place to plop down and work if need be, there were plenty of people there doing just that. All in all I found Cloche to be laid back, warm and friendly, a wonderful experience all around.

Walked in and right away and loved it. Relaxing airy vibes. Seems fresh inside, if that is a descriptor I can use. Small cafe but they rock every square inch!

Used to frequent this place as a college student and ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT. It had some of the best coffee in the area! Visited this morning to do some work and felt like the quality's gone down a bit, the espresso in the latte was weak and the milk was poorly steamed. I'm usually not very picky but Cloche espresso drinks have been immaculate, so the difference was noticeable and a little disappointing. Overall though the interior is still cozy and the employees are friendly. They sell waffles here now, too, which is cool!

This is such a refreshing space. I love the outdoor space, plants, natural light, and easy access from East Campus.

Really cute place. Very small. The Vietnamese iced coffee was not good. If you aren’t gonna do it right then leave it off the menu 😬

Matcha was watery and essentially a slightly green/gray cup of almond milk. Barely any matcha in my matcha latte. The muffins were both soggy and dry at the same time. Not worth the $20.

Used to come here every day. The service is still as great and friendly as ever but the coffee has had a bit of a downturn and the oat milk is slimy and watery as of late. Maybe it they just haven’t been shaking it.
