This is a wonderful bakery. I recommend it as the best local bakery. Everything we ordered was so good. The cinnamon rolls and biscuits and gravy are passed down from generations. Try it, you won't be disappointed.

Love the owner! She set up a tasting for my fiance and I. We are using them for our wedding in October. I'm excited to see everything fall into place.

Is this an arts and crafts project or a bakery? Who cares because the food slaps and my future children are well-fed. Amen and Namastë

Very disappointed. Ordered a chocolate cake with creme cheese frosting and couldn't even cut into the edge of the cake because it was so hard all the way around. For 40 dollars that cake was a big bust!

Family ordered a birthday cake made with cupcakes and the amount of frosting used was excessive to say the very least. Aesthetics is not my main issue with my experience at this establishment. It is the fact that my partner and I have now been violently sick will food poisoning since consuming Sweet House cupcakes. I have basically been living in my bathroom for the past 24 hours. We are not the only ones from the party to have gotten sick either. I did not pay for the cupcakes but I had to leave a review of my experience - never again.

So I read on their website that they have maple donuts. I go to their store and ask the girl behind the counter which of the cake donuts were maple. She pointed to several after hesitating briefly. I got two. NEITHER tasted my maple in the slightest. Ridiculous. Guess I won't be back. Hyvee maple donuts actually taste like maple. What a concept.

My girls and I drove all the way from Owatonna to visit. When we got there the baked goods looked so delicious we spent $96.60 and bought one of every pastry, 2 sticky buns and 6 cinnamon rolls. We waited the whole car ride home to try them only for my entire family to be extremely disappointed. The chocolate croissant was so hard we couldn't even eat it, the donuts had no flavor which was super disappointing, especially for my kiddos. The sticky buns weren't fully cooked in the middle and we were scared to eat them, the scones were rock hard on the outside and super dry when eating them. The cinnamon rolls were very strange tasting, I'm not sure how to describe it, but no one in my family of 6 liked them. We even warmed some pastries up hoping that would help. It did not. Needless to say, we more than likely won't be back. We were so disappointed, especially for the price of the pastries. I expected them to be out of this world!! The only positive is the staff were kind and friendly.

Has the bakery cut costs? For the first year we went here, everything was first rate, with fresh products and premium ingredients. But our latest visit found two stale donuts, anemic maple frosting, and low-quality chocolate frosting.

Best pastry shop in Rochester, MN. Scones, croissants, donuts, and cakes are perfection! And you will love their smiles when you enter.

Pastries are stiff, dry, overworked. Service is laughably bad.

This bakery is THE TOPS!!!!! If you bake, as I do, you will highly value all of the delicious items. We came from 400 miles away and brought a huge box home to the freezer!! They freeze well. DKWH

I can’t possibly say enough about Sweet House Bakery. I have called on them for everything from wedding cakes, to birthday cakes (all are delicious but I favor the Salted Caramel), to just a quick stop for something delicious (frosted cookies, donuts, caramel rolls). Sweet House Bakery never disappoints! And their classes are fun and you always come away with something incredibly tasty. Best bakery in SE Minnesota!

My favorite bakery in town - They have many different treats, all of the ones ive tried were great! I especially like their scones, each monthly flavor is so yummy. It's nice to stop in on tuesdays for $1 donuts too, there's usually fun/unique.

Updated review: I previously posted a few weeks ago and I wanted to update my review. After my post the bakery reached out to me and offered me a full refund and another cookie cake. This time the cookie we received was delicious. It had the perfect amount of sweet, light frosting and it was soft on the inside with chewy edges.....everything we wanted in a cookie cake. I certainly appreciate a business that strives to ensure the customer has a positive experience and to make things right. I will not hesitate to support this bakery in the future. Original review: Purchased 2 cookie cakes (totaling almost $50) for my son's birthday. They were beautifully decorated and the frosting was delicious. However, the cookies were awfully dry and did not taste fresh. Not one party guest took seconds and no one wanted to take any leftovers home. I tried to contact the bakery via email to provide feedback but did not receive any response in return. Perhaps their pastries and cakes are more fresh but I am not sure if I will return to give them a try.
