Had the new "GINGER CHICKN NOODLE SALAD" and it was a delight. With a refreshing lighter flavor and a delightful mix of ingredients. It holds up to the standard Old Abe's has set and maintained over the years.
I love Old Abe! His vegan meats are amazingly delicious and flavorful—you should try them and the flavor combinations of the featured dishes even if you don't typically eat or prefer vegan (your heart and your taste buds will thank you!!)! The banh mi sandwich is outstanding and always consistently so. The grain bowls are also fantastic and consistently so—I love all the flavors I've tried so far, including spicy salmon and kung pao chicken. The coffee is good—he served me an iced root beer latte at his stand at the Rochester farmers market last fall, and it was surprisingly delicious! The staff are always friendly and helpful. Quirky decor, a comfortable, casual atmosphere, and outdoor patio in the back.
Welcoming hipster joint with artisanal vegan fare. If that scares you off, you should rethink that.
Fantastic food and doughnuts, very quaint atmosphere and very friendly staff. Bathroom is clean and has a changing table for the little ones if needed which is great for such situations. A+
Cool, funky place! The staff were welcoming and helpful with suggestions. The food arrived fast and it was SO TASTY! We got a number of items to try and not one disappointed. My wife and I hadn’t even left and we were already talking about wanting to come back. Don’t sleep on Old Abe’s!
SO GOOD! Do yourself the favour and pay them a visit. Super friendly team, cute little location and a great menu! I enjoyed their coffee drinks and smoothies, as well as the Banh Mi with pulled "pork" and a bagel with "salmon". Both imitation meats were really good and fresh tasting. The donuts are great and a nice size. Plus they're super generous with the fillings on the sandwiches, I had almost too much cream cheese on my bagel :)
Just AMAZING!! WONDERFUL!! TASTY!! And the stuff is *chefs kiss*. I brought in my 10 month old and they offered to make her a little rice bowl and she absolutely loved it! Will be back and will spread the word about this place!
Perfect iced Mocha where you still taste Good COFFEE. The grilled cheese excellent 👌 The Ube donuts are beautiful and tasty and made from... YAMS? Guiltless deliciousness!

I've had the giant spring roll a couple of times now, delicious each time, speaking as someone who doesn't have a lot of experience with vegan food. The war eagle cold brew is delicious and strong. The vibe and staff are truly fantastic, really feels like the kind of cozy, communal, nurturing place that offers far more than just a delicious meal & drink. Pricing is very accessible -- I got my giant spring roll and cold brew for a little more than $15, which given the increase of prices across the board (including coffee drinks especially), that's amazing. Might have to make going here more of a habit!
Moved to Rochester a little more than 2 years ago and just discovered Old Abes today. Delicious! Tried the Ban-Mi with bacon and I've found my new fave spot! Thank you Genesis for brightening my day and cannot wait to try another taste on the menu! I adored the eclectic decor inside and look forward to warmer spring and summer out back! 🧘♀️ Ali
Stopped in for a dirty chai & a maple donut...both were amazing delicious!
Amazing vegan food! Love this little dive. Only downside is the parking and the AC. I've been to restaurants around the globe and this is honestly one of the top 10. It's certainly the best vegan restaurant I've ever been to.
How wonderful to have a vegan restaurant to go to after our Mayo visits. The food is amazing and the staff is even more amazing! Wish we had them locally. It would be my "go to" restaurant.
I really loved the breakfast sandwiches and smoothies. I came back for lunch and had the ban mi and the bbq rice bowl to go. I ate that for dinner and breakfast the next morning. Great food!
Everything on the menu is delicious! One of my favorite eats in Rochester.
Went for breakfast. Too early for bahn mi. Had a bagel with vegan cream cheese. Excellent. Street parking only. Was driving cross country on I-90 and this was a great place to stop for breakfast.
Phenomenal first experience! Between the service, menu selection, and items themselves, they gained a new regular! Bonus points for the awesome atmosphere!

If you’re looking for a place that serves good, tasty, vegan food then you found it. The quality of the construction of the place is fair. The owner is super helpful and friendly. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a good vegan food
