Great people, wonderful atmosphere, terrific service, amazing coffee!
Good place for raw coffee beans.
Nice local coffee shop that serves fresh baked goods and has good coffee! The owner is nice and I could tell her patrons really like her. The shop is quite cozy and quiet so it was a good place to finish some work in the morning since they close in the afternoon!
Best coffee/service in town!!!
Y'all, I come to Lawrence from out of town pretty frequently and have been looking for a good local place for coffe, and after looking for awhile, let me tell you, this is the place. 100% worth trying.
Great coffee! Great atmosphere! Definitely my favorite coffee place in Lawrence.
We love this place and Carrie and Lukas, the owners. The scones and biscotti are great. They have so many options of good coffee. We like to support small businesses and go where they remember your favorite drink. Joan and Steve Heide
My favorite coffee shop in town! Even my son knows this, and announces as such when we are parking. I’m not sure who’s more excited to discover the scone and muffin options of the day, him or me, but I’m pretty sure it’s me. I moved to Lawrence, KS from NYC a couple years ago and the SconeLady has been my go-to coffee shop since I discovered they make the ice cubes for their iced coffee out of coffee! It’s genius! Why isn’t everyone doing that?!! It makes for the strongest iced coffee in town. Yum! The couple who run the place could not be kinder. And they always remember your order, because it’s that kind of place. They sell excellent beans roasted in-house, and their daily home-made baked goods are always stellar. You’re extra lucky if it’s chocolate chip pumpkin muffin day! Do yourself a favor and visit the SconeLady tomorrow morning!
The scone are amazing the people are so nice! They have coffee to buy by cup or bean. They have tea by cup or loose leaf! This is a really neat place to be!
Watered down drip coffee does not make an Americno!
Best lattes in town
Very friendly customer service and excellent coffee. I also love the variety of fresh baked muffins and scones!
This is one of the only coffee shops directly on my way to work (and really for anyone taking BB) and I would really love to have a coffee shop to stop into. I've tried to stop by in the morning multiple times, but I never know if and when you all will be open. You sign says 7am and yet when I stop by at 8 on my way to work, you're closed. I stopped by today hoping to actually be able to get something and there were three other cars trying to see if you were open.
The staff is always friendly, their coffee is great, and I enjoy the fun and unique specialty drinks!
*An edit to my original review for the snarky business owner commenting on all of the low star reviews: You deserve the people calling out the things they experienced and your rudeness to them and me only makes you look foolish. Maybe instead of hostility on Google Maps reviews toward people who noticed your hours were never correct, coffee was bad, and scones were bland you could take a hint and do better. Coffee was decent, but the choice of brews was just one. I was excited to try some scones since the name of the place is "SconeLady's", but there was only one choice there as well. Pretty average as far as coffee shops go and the scones were underwhelming. The hours are short and a lot of the times they're shortened even more on a random day to day basis. I'm giving one star for lack of variety and all the times I tried to go and the place was randomly closed.
Great place, friendly staff, good mocha. I'm lucky it's so conveniently close to my apartment!
To be completely transparent, I'm a regular at the scone lady coffee shop, I've been going there daily, for 3 or 4 years now, probably longer. I imagine, if you are reading this you are interested in finding a quality coffee shop that is the spirit of Lawrence (L.F.K.) a place that is personalable, a place that you can study or can conduct a meeting without distraction. While at the same time enjoying a cup of freshly roasted coffee, maybe a tea, perhaps a study snack. A place that you can call "your place" on a date. This isn't a corporate chain, that gives fancy names to low quality, watered down drinks, nor is it a place that buys their baked goods in mass amounts, only to sell at a later date.. Everything happens in house, or is resourced locally to the best of their abilities. Privately owned and operated by a husband and wife, that support the local community of Lawrence. If for whatever reason your beverage isn't to your liking, they will gladly fix it or just make you a new one. It's just the two of them, that work there and sometimes life happens and they have to close early or can't open. Let's be real.... the main reason we go to a coffee shop is because we need our fix. Something to start our day, something to give us that little bit of a push into our second wind after lunch, or a pick me up before a long evening/night ahead of us. Sometimes we are in a rush and sometimes we want to take it slow and enjoy the moment, with a casual conversation. Everyone is different, and thus may feel, think, or believe that the experience of a coffee shop "should be" this way or that. That being said, imagine yourself behind that counter, competing with generic cookie cutter corporate companies. Having to deal with that overwhelming pressure, as a local privately owned and operated business owner while still trying to make everyone happy, all the while trying to run a profitable business, and support a family. Yeah...! it's a lot To imagine, right? I know just afte
The taste of the coffee is great, but when I ordered a macchiato they made a latte. The tea selection was great. There wasn’t much selection when it came to scones, which I thought was weird since the name implies otherwise. I liked the decor of the place, but when we need time deciding what to order the two employees just stood on the other side of the counter staring and waiting intently. It made the ordering process uncomfortable. Will go back though.
This coffee was not great. I purchased an almond vanilla iced coffee. They froze coffee cubes which is great in theory but they didn’t melt until much later making the iced coffee not coffee. I also had a blueberry muffin, which was dry. There weren’t a lot of variety in the muffin choices and only one scone. But, the atmosphere was cozy. I also received two responses from the owner after I posted my first review. I felt the owner was trying to bully me into changing it. I will add another star to the review because they do care about their customers and their experience (and they generously refunded me my purchase). However, I will stand by what is say on the coffee and muffin.
Really cool little shop I just discovered! Great drinks and neat selection of foodstuffs! Had a good meeting with a friend there and it was ideal for that. Doesn’t feel like it belongs in a strip mall! A hidden gem!
