Always great pastries and coffee drinks
Update: this place has tanked…oh they’re still there but the price went up as the quality went down! What a loss, they used to be amazing but don’t bother stopping now! Such a letdown.
Let me start by saying I am biased against coffee shops with a weird and small menu. I can only assume a coffee shop can make quite a few different combinations, so I really hate when there’s only 5-10 options on the menu. Makes things a bit confusing for the customer.. I live in California now and half the places have the same vibe as this place, which could be a plus or a minus depending on who you ask. Ordered some hot cappuccinos and an iced vanilla caramel latte, both were strong and tasty. Pastry wise I wanted to try the lemon cream, they ran out. Second option was the raspberry and they ran out as well. I thought the third option was a fruit danish but maybe I miss heard the gentleman working the counter. When we got home the box had 3 danishes, none of which were sweet. They all had some kind of bacon and cheese combination. I thought they tasted really good, very flaky. Not sure what got lost in translation but though this worked out in my favor. A lot of people don’t eat pork for various reasons, so that could’ve been a disaster. Overall, would recommend for the pastries but the vibe/atmosphere and coffee were just mediocre in my opinion…
I used to love coming here but as of late not so much. The staff has an arrogant almost indifferent vibe. Its almost as if coming in is a burden to them. Pastries are wonderful but maybe not worth the attitude?
So yummy! I had a chocolate croissant and a latte. OMG good.
Pastries and breakfast sandwich are so tasty! I loved their expresso too. Since the place is small, there aren't many seats but it's completely worth it.
The Breakfast Sandwich with an egg patty and a croissant bun. Listen to me--I am PICKY about the words "egg patty" and "croissant bun" because it sounded like it would be sweet, small, and not very filling. SO!! When I tell you that this was the BEST breakfast sandwich 🤤 The egg patty is 3/4 of an inch thick and creamy, and the bun is NOT sweet, just flakey and DELICIOUS. It really shows the passion for flavors and baking, whoever created these recipes. I didn't even get to tell you about the sauce or fresh veggies that goes on it. Just get one, okay? All the workers at the cafe are professional, and the atmosphere is a vibe.
They don’t have the new location at 816 Mass St online yet but it’s amazing! Such a beautiful indoor space and bar. Lots of seating too and a beautiful indoor environment. I’m so happy to have a great coffee shop with room to sit now. Thanks Taylor and gang on a job well done.
This was my first visit to 1900; the BEST latte and fruit danish I have ever had!
My coworker and I got an assortment of their pastries for the office. Got about 20-30 pastries for $110 with tip included. All of them are delicious. I even tried the ham & cheese and this blew my mind to how good it is! Mind you, I usually disliked all ham & cheeses in every place I go to (they never look appealing to me) — except this place. So this speaks volumes. The lemon croissant, regular croissant, cinnamon bun all are *chef’s kiss* too. The only one I didn’t get to try was the almond pastry. But my coworkers said they’re delicious too. Needless to say, I look forward to going back here!
Amazing shots, had a Cortado 3 separate time and each time it was perfect! The Pastries are also to die for 10/10
Really nice slices of sourdough pizza. Vegetarian pizza and vegan pizza option. The coffee drinks are also good. Also fantastic sourdough. Really overall lovely spot and high quality bread!
The coffe is good but the seating and parking is very limited. Otherwise, everything is great.
Excellent croissants and breakfast sandwiches. Caraway-coriander bread was also excellent.
Nice breads, excellent brioche. Little loud and slightly slow, mostly due to the layout of the building.
Oh, this is one of our faves in LFK. The quiche is to die for. The bread and pastries are so well executed. Everything I've ever gotten here has been wonderful. Parking is the only thing we ever fight.
Expect to pay for the high quality. This place has some of the best pastries and breads in town. The coffee drinks are strong, which isn't for everyone.
Hidden gem! The appearance from the outside is unassuming but inside is a magical land of baked goods and coffee! Fast and friendly service. Fun to see everyone working.
I have loved every experience here at 1900, I think the ambiance and selections have always been amazing and to my taste. However this one time I got a Pain au Chocolate and it was kinda either soggy or chewy but moist in the middle and led me to wonder if it was undercooked. But otherwise its a staple for having coffee in Lawrence!
The pastries are delicious and they serve good, socially conscious coffee.
