tasty coffee.
Excellent service every time I’ve been here and delicious coffee! I tried the “Nicholas Sage” this past time - an americano with brown sugar sage. The employee who made the drink even checked in a few minutes later to ensure it tasted good. Relatively good prices on coffee as well! It is quite loud for studying or trying to have a conversation though!
Recommend the falafel salad.
They put in the tissue papers like waste paper. But the food was great
I had the Israeli breakfast. Good portion size and of course the cortado coffee. Tasted amazing
Not only my favorite coffee in Iowa City - perhaps my favorite restaurant as well? Cortado never fails to hit the spot: the lamb shawarma is the PERFECT lunch and always my first choice. Their hummus is the best that I’ve had in Iowa. Finally, the falafel is always crisp and perfectly done. I often find myself grabbing some hummus to bring home or some olive oil from their mini market on the shelf. My only regret with Cortado is that they aren’t open more hours of the day. This place is legit. Enjoy!
Great food, will return
Foods were not only yummy, they were also healthy! Not too much oil or sauce, foods are fresh and delicious. The salad portion was huge. They also have very good croissant, almond croissant is one of the best croissant I’ve ever had.
Went for lunch and they ran out of all meat. There was someone coughing and sneezing behind the counter.
This place always has interesting new flavor combos in their featured drink, they craft excellent coffee drinks, and the food and pastries are also delicious.
This is one of the best cafes in town. I love their cappuccino, it tasteful with a perfect ration of espresso to milk (got double shot). The foam is not hanging on top like at many other places. They also have a nice lunch/breakfast menu and make their own pita bread. I have tried their Falafel burger, chicken sandwich, etc and I liked it. I just suggest that the owner smiles a bit😀
my go to study spot! very kind workers who are always helpful. love seeing middle eastern representation in this town! spinach and ricotta croissant is my fav as well as the chai. so worth!! deserves all the love.
Do not sleep on cortado their food is delicious the croissant is so flaky and yummy I get a sausage egg cheese croissant with avocado it's so good!
This place is great. The coffee is really good and the people who work there are really nice. I don't know how much they make, but they deserve a raise.
The best coffee (for a European) you can get here around, it also serves good Israeli food.
Good coffee place but underrated food place. Pizza made by an Italian and hummus made by an Israeli. All fresh and super good.

Worth the drive off 80! Met expectations for my picky tastes. Corrado sets the bar high ever even after spending years in the Middle East. His hummus and lamb completely pass expectations. Thank you!
My favorite place in downtown Iowa City for espresso! The pita and hummus are made fresh daily and are just perfect 👌 I don't eat meat, but my wife has had the lamb shawarma pita wrap and says it's incredible, and there's a tofu wrap that looks amazing. I am so thankful this place exists!
I ordered the Turkey sandwich! However, it looked like my sandwich had received significantly smaller amounts of sauce and other toppings compared to the pictures posted on their instagram; this made the sandwich so dry. I really wish there were more sauce because it was delicious and would have made it so much better! Also, even though i ordered a double shot latte, the drink was not strong at all and the coffee seemed kind of weak compared to other lattes.
