Excellent latte made by the barista — very much so a handcrafted beverage. Super friendly & helpful suggestions for an out-of-towner. Will look forward to returning!

Really great avocado toast and matcha latte - they put rose leaves on top. So yummy! Great Wi-Fi and plenty of seating. Metered parking out front. Great place with really nice people!

I stopped in for a flea market event, so I don't know what the food or service was like. Nice decor but it was packed with people.

One of my absolute favorite coffee shops in Iowa City. A friend and I go every week for their $2 cappuccinos in the afternoon. I don't know what sort of magic they are putting in their espresso shots - perhaps it's the talented, kind baristas they have working there - but my time and money is always well spent here! Would recommend to anyone and everyone!

Tru is all you could ever want and more out of a coffee shop! The food and drink are exceptionally made, the staff is amazing, and it has such a warm and welcoming atmosphere (bonus points if you love plants as the shop is scattered with a beautiful variety). Then to add a thrift shop inside as well.. there is truly so much to love!

A very nice place, actually. I tried their Cappuccino and it tasted very good 😊. It's not expensive at all, too.

Tru Coffee is one of my favorite places in Iowa City. Whether you are looking to study or chat with a friend, it has the perfect atmosphere for either. The staff is always there with a friendly smile. They serve delicious, quality coffee and also have house made syrups. I highly recommend it to everyone!!

Had my bridal shower here and it was perfect! Great size space and beautiful natural lighting! The aesthetic was so good that we literally didn’t need any decorations. Coffee is fantastic and Haley is so great!

Amazing coffee shop! They also serve Matcha in many forms. They have Matcha Tonic and a wonderful Matcha Latte! This lovely place is decorated so cutely. Wonderfully friendly colors and a cozy feel. Lots of natural light from tons on windows! The owner is so friendly, enthusiastic and inspired! One of my favorite places in Iowa City and my favorite coffee shop in the City.

I think I found my Iowa City Coffee shop. Great location... close enough to downtown, but slightly out of the busy-ness. This coffee shop has a good open vibes inside - but most important - a great pour over. They have multiple beans to choose from and expert baristas to pour. As if it wasn't good enough, they even have a few racks of slightly used clothes to purchase. Highly recommend!

Best cappuccinos in town. (A Slayer machine! 😍) I don't know the story behind the empty pastry case, but I hope they will get a good pastry supplier. The metal chairs aren't particularly comfortable for long term sitting, but the option of standing at the taller tables by the windows is there. The music is...depending on who's working as far as I can tell. The wifi speed has been great so far. Their toaster or toaster oven appeared to be uneven? One time both my wife and I ordered bagel with cream cheese, and one of our bagels was very nicely toasted while the other was barely toasted. A very generous amount of cream cheese though!

Nice cool place. And they have good WiFi. Also the coffee is cheaper, when compared to High Ground

Really delightful place to visit with friends and enjoy a great cup of coffee! They make their own syrups for flavoring and I had a really amazing lavender! The avocado toast is very generous and served on home baked artisan bread! Everything looked delicious! But it's the atmosphere and ambiance of this shop that make it so special! Great service, too! Definitely will go back!

Love this place! The space is fantastic and the coffee is good! Really appreciate all of the natural light, as well as being open till the later afternoon! Also, loved the volume of the music! I could hear it the whole time, but I also brought in my sleeping 8 month old and he did not even stir! That is the space, as far as the coffee goes I really appreciated the mugs "for here", the Mahlkonig grinder, and the Synesso espresso machine! They are staying Tru to the specialty coffee scene! Keep it up!

Their lavender syrup is the absolute best flavor of anything ever! It's not too flowery, more sage-y, if that makes sense. So calming. Plus the people are cool and so is the thrift part. Glad to have the option for oat or almond milk.

This was maybe the worst latte (If you can call it that) I've ever had. I'm not really sure even what I was given - did they poor water instead of almond milk in it? Odd there's hundreds of little bubbles on top and its incredibly watery with no real taste. Baristas need training.
