One of our favorite restaurants in Iowa City. Great pizza and atmosphere.
Amazing
We probably didn't go at the best time-lunch during the week but I wasn't super impressed. Things were either over or under seasoned. My bun was over toasted and I really disliked the fries that came on the side. I would have rather had a choice of soup or salad.
The service was great! The entree (eggplant parmesan)was definitely mediocre in my opinion but many other people from Iowa City enjoy coming here. The burrata with tomato jam was delicious though and they have mocktails. I had the orange creamsicle and that was a delight.
Lovely place for lunch or dinner and the menu is amazing — gotta love the pizza!
We dined on a very busy graduation weekend. While we did have reservations it was still a bit of a wait. Jake, took it upon himself to make sure we were taken care of. He was phenomenal and made our special evening a wonderful experience! Thanks, Jake!!
Interesting place, the food was terrific. Parking can be an issue.

We enjoyed Sunday brunch at Basta recently and it was fantastic! Ciara provided amazing service to us and the food was wonderful. Definitely stop by for a fun and yummy experience.

Fresh pasta? Yes please. I am not a native to Iowa. But, if possible, I will make an effort to visit this establishment. You can smell the wood fire pizza oven upon entry and it just sets the tone, immediately. The sausage and orecchiette is amazing. Just the right amount of spice in a cream sauce with kale. Sooo so good!

Beautiful building and great food. Friendly staff. The calamari was excellent and pizza delicious. Only problem was that our appetizers came at the same time as our main course. It was a loud and busy Friday night. The coat rack is flimsy and as I was sitting on a bench waiting for a table, it suddenly fell over on me because it was overloaded with coats. Very unexpected to be sure, but it was poorly placed in a high traffic area. That being said, I'd still go back because the food and wine was wonderful. I would recommend going at a less busy time of day to relax and enjoy your time there.
My friends and I took advantage of a 2-for-1 pasta entree special. Our group was seated at a large table near a window. The rest of the restaurant seemed rather dark, but probably average for what really is a night spot. The food was superb. Our server went above expectations to ensure a pleasant experience for us. For groups over six people, separate cheques are not available. There is a group service charge (tip) of 20%.
This pizza was very good. We didn't have a reservation, so we had to sit at the bar. The service was awesome. Those girls hustle. I would definitely go back but maybe not for pizza this time and definitely make a reservation.
Loved my first experience here. The food is great! The desserts are delectable! And the service is wonderful. Great venue for date night or a night out with friends.
Meh. Pizza crust was soggy and not much flavor on a two topping pie. Spouses pasta dish was so so. Pasta portion sizes were extremely small as well. The staff making pizzas was on his phone between pies and never washed his hands the whole time we were present. For the price, I expected much better. Won't visit again.
My favorite restaurant in Iowa City! Excellent fresh pasta (my favorite is the chicken fettuccini), good cocktails, and my husband loves the pizza and steak. Also the nutella creme brulee is divine. The wait staff is always excellent and very attentive and the service as the bar is just as excellent as the table servers. I have been here countless times and love it every time! Update: we just had their brunch for the first time and it was fantastic! We had the arancini bologense, Nutella French toast, and the burger which were all excellent. Looking forward to going back and trying some of the other dishes. 😀
