Diane is great and her pastry’s are amazing. Rode our bikes and had a latte and croissant. A little taste of Europe in the quad cities.

Diana’s creations are truly divine! We are fortunate to have her as a new QC staple. I will be recommending her strawberry tart to every pastry lover I know! 💕🍓

Ordered a cake with specific instructions over the phone, nothing complicated. A DARK CHOCOLATE CAKE ( no chocolate chips) WHOOPIE PIE CREAM frosting between the layers with CHOCOLATE FROSTING on the outside. The person who took the order agreed to everything as if it were no problem. What we got resembled NOTHING close to what we ordered ( see pic attached. It was German chocolate at best and thick butter cream frosting between the layers). We spent $50 for a cake we didn't ask for. The only thing correct was the writing and flowers on the top. We went to them because we wanted a custom cake. Otherwise we would have gone to a local grocery Baker for a fraction of the cost. When we called to explain the mess up she defended the the order despite how wrong it was. Wouldn't let me give zero stars.

I've passed by Small Town Pastry pretty much every day on the way to work and back. To my credit, their store front faces away from Middle Road, so I haven't really had much to notice (not that I'm super awake or alert to or from work typically anyways). In a continuing quest to try more local cafes and pastry, I stopped by after work tonight to have a quick tea. The space is small, but definitely didn't feel as such. The lighting is not harsh, owing likely to a combination of the sparse accent lights and black ceiling area. The space is new and well kept up and it shows. Wood flooring of the style that snaps together adorns the floors, the upper plenum lacks a drop ceiling with the structural metal exposed throughout, and the decor along the walls displays either pastry or sculpture thereof. It's cohesive and comfortable - I like it. As I browsed the pastry cases, I fixated on the macarons when I saw them. There were only a few flavors on offer, but I only needed two and decided to go with a salted caramel and a lemon raspberry. For a beverage, I inquired about the hot tea available, to which the proprietor shared their selection of Rishi teas. I really like this! I haven't had too much Rishi tea yet, but what I have had, I've enjoyed. I proceeded to sit at a table and have my tea and cookies. No surprise, the macarons were as good as they looked! Both were a rich version of the flavors described and definitely worth the $3 apiece price tag. The tea was a perfect compliment to the cookies - Rishi's Jasmine Green is as good as the other greens I've had of theirs. I can easily envision returning here after work many times in the future. I saw the olive oil cakes and cheesecakes in the case and can easily envision stopping by after work for one or both. Thanks for being a great new space in Bettendorf!

Terrible experience. I ordered cake for my son's birthday and it spoiled our day. My son was trying to cut the cake and he was not able to. I thought since it is a big one he is not able to. But when I tried, I realized the cake was so hard that knife was not going down. Everyone was so disappointed. Next day I emailed about this and the response was we bake fresh cake. Of course it is basic understanding even if you bake fresh,if measurements and ingredients go wrong it will be a disaster and that's what happened here.I also ordered some carrot cake but it just tasted cinnamon. Nothing else. I will never recommend this place.

I have celiacs disease and this is my new favorite bakery! Their gluten free items are always very good and I haven’t had any issues with the celiac symptoms with any cross contamination.

I ordered a custom cake that I needed in 2 days and they were able to do it! It perfectly matched the photos I sent as a reference. I couldn't believe how perfectly it matched. I was thrilled. It was also delicious and the owner (I think) made the process so easy and she directed me to what I could do that would be possible in the short timeline. Highly recommend. I also couldn't believe how reasonable it was.

I live in the surrounding neighborhood and will walk there once in a while. I was disappointed when they recently removed the complementary water. Although a new employee gave me a cup of water. Recently I tried the sprinkle cookie and was very disappointed. The cookie was extremely dry and brittle. I could barely cut through it with my plastic knife (actually it broke the knife). I also got a mini apple pie and although she asked if we wanted it warmed up (we said yes) it came out pretty cold. My neighbor recently visited and gave 30 extra cents expecting change, but he saw the employee pocket the change and when asked, she said that they gave her the right amount. My neighbor then asked for a receipt, and she said that they do not offer receipts (which I know if false). Many employees have not made me feel welcome, as they have attitudes and make me feel rushed. Overall, I am not the biggest fan of this business but I do enjoy the decor of the building, it feels nice and clean.

We called Small Town pastry for a birthday cake with only a few days’ notice. I explained what I wanted and they ran with it…. Made a beautiful cake for my daughter (that she was impressed with - and you know how hard it is to impress a 17 year old). Not only was it gorgeous, it was one of the best tasting cakes we’ve had. We will definitely be repeat customers.

Drove across town to try this bakery and will do so again and again! Very happy with the chocolate croissant (the only place I've found so far in the QC that makes them) and the oatmeal raisin cookie was the best I've EVER had!

Small town pastry. I just love those cakes from here. I ordered for wife's birthday. And then my son's 1st. Apart from the lovely looks, they are delicious; feels home made. I sat out for a bite and an ice latte there and everything is just perfect! Nice people people too

This is my favorite bakery in the Quad Cities. Everything they make is great but they are best at things like croissants, macarons, unusual cakes like the Opera Cake, cheesecake and cookies. Many bakeries do simple things like cupcakes but this bakery goes beyond. Also, they are very responsive to special requests. I asked for an assortment of 4 inch cheesecakes and they were amazing!!!

I am very disappointed in this place. Their cakes are so dry and ridiculously overpriced! I tried the Opera cake and paid $8.50 for a small slice. It wasn't even good. The coffee cream hardened and cake was somewhat dry. I understand this might be the only decent pastry place in QC, but that doesn't mean you keep your prices so high. I prefer Bundt cake way over this in terms of price and mainly taste! It's sad how there isn't a WholeFoods in QC, their fruit tarts and macarons are so much better and reasonably priced compared to theirs. I can't believe I gave them a chance twice, and paid so much just to waste food.
