All was good, just no WOW factor. Everyone was nice. Wife had creme brulee french toast, said it was WOW 😲
I had hoped that the newly reopened Victory Cafe would be better than the previous version. I was wrong, it's the same. I had an omelette made with Valveeta! Yuk! There is a limited menu with no substitutions. Also, they don't take credit cards. Our server was nice enough, but if you want a good breakfast go to Otto's or the DeSoto House.
The food was good but the service was horrible looked and acted angry to serve us. And kept looking at me in a discrimination way bc I’m not white.
We were disappointed in both the service and food. Food was undercooked and the ketchup on the table was definitely expired.
Super friendly breakfast place. Service was great. Food was good. Would go back.
We were in town looking for breakfast and decided Victory Cafe looked good. Sat down right away. Friendly staff and very quick with the food. I had the miners breakfast with hash browns, sausage links, eggs and toast. The toast and sausage links were delicious. The hash browns looked like they were a day or two old and extremely dry. The eggs were chopped up like a cheese steak, Overcooked and very dry. It’s not hard to make great eggs. I’d say the food came out five minutes after we ordered.
Visited for breakfast….huge pancakes! Typical breakfast fare and satisfying meal. Great service and clean space. Would probably go back.
Nice little breakfast cafe with great food and quick service for a reasonable price
Good food. Good service. Fair pricing. 03.27.2023
We always have breakfast here whenever we are in Galena. Great food and great service!
Great service, great breakfast, great coffee.
Thanks goodness the Victory Cafe is open again! After a long closure to repair extensive from frozen pipes, the Victory Cafe is once again serving customers in downtown Galena. They feature breakfast all day along with a great lunch menu. We enjoyed flavorful omelets this morning, toast, hash browns and great coffee. Locals love this place and when a restaurant is a local favorite, you know it's going to be great. Good to have you back, Victory Cafe.
Waited an hour for hour for our food. Server was unhelpful , just had an attitude.
Had the creme brûlée French toast and the breakfast skillet. The bread for the French toast was tender and perfect, loved the creme brûlée topping!! The skillet had very good flavor.
Newly renovated, great food and wonderful service!
One of the few good places to eat in Galena, Website down, Facebook page down. Building and/or business sold. Galena is now off our radar as far as weekend getaways. This was our breakfast and lunch place. We will be doing the Brown County, IN thing from now on. No more Galena.
I would rather eat at a Denny's off the highway. This place seemed understaffed for a weekend morning. Breakfast potatoes came out without flavor and still undercooked. The pancakes were somehow cold and the avacado toast a friend ordered was laughably a wholly guacamole singles packet with some salsa on top. Will not be coming back.
My husband and I just stopped in for breakfast. It was busy, and there was only one server working. I wish I could remember his name, but he killed it. He was on top of everything and making sure everyone had what they needed. If he was overwhelmed he certainly didn't show it one bit, being kind and attentive to everyone in the place. Not to mention the food came out hot and quick and it was delicious!!!
I dont know how this restaurant has such good reviews. We found it dirty, the egg sandwich was meh, the buffalo chicken salad was made using iceberg lettace which I probably should have asked before ordering.
If you're looking for a typical greasy spoon? It works. I had the country benedict, the eggs were well poached, the biscuit was just okay, the sausage salty and the cream gravy reminded me of something you'd get out of a can or pouch. I didn't get "from scratch" from this place at all. Staff were okay, kind of short with their attitude overall (I only went once, so it's hard to judge too much - might just be an off day, to be fair!) If it's me? I pick Otto's Place over Victory Cafe.
