What a treat it was to step inside an establishment that has gotten it right! From the moment I stepped inside I was enveloped by the smells and sights of French coffee and pastries! The restaurant/bakery was alive but not noisy! The employees were very kind and efficient and although there was a small line when I arrived, their efficiency kept it moving without making me feel like I was being rushed! I couldn't wait until I got home to eat my lemon/blueberry muffin, so at the first red light I had a taste! OMG! This muffin was light and airy, not too sweet, and the best part was the BLUEBERRIES! They were so fresh they popped in my mouth and made me say mmmmmm out loud! Thank you Cafe Ficelle for your great customer service, spotless establishment and the delicious muffin! I will be back!

10/10 experience! The food and drinks are incredible. I highly recommend trying their seasonal drinks ask they are consistent crowd pleasers. Their pastries are homemade, fresh, and delicious!

Onion soup was cold. On a rainy day this felt worse. Oh and they served it with a teaspoon. However the pastry was delicious.

This was the best croissant sandwich I’ve ever had, hands down! Nicely served with fresh fruit!

Great French Bakery and Restaurant! Really enjoyed the Croque Madam and a cafe mocha. My wife liked her Ficelle Sandwich with Tri-tip. Great service.

This place is okay. It is overpriced that'd for sure. Food is okay. We had some pastry and coffee. For the price, it is not worth it...

I first discovered this wonderful bakery in 2019. Whenever I visit Southern California namely my friends in Oxnard I make it a point to stop in and grab a box of goodies to take home with me. The baked goods are very close to what I've had in France. The only difference being the ingredients are grown and or sourced in the United States which may account for the slightly different flavor.

Wonderful concept and idea, but don’t come here after coming back from France- the croissant was subpar- heavy and slightly stale…all for $6!?! That’s three times as much as a croissant in a Paris boulangerie - but I will say the service was good!

$30 for one tea, and a croissant and two pastries. On their menu, it said they have a rose latte, but what they mean is that they have rose syrup that’ll put in your tea which isn’t a rose latte. The croissant was fine, but I got the swan and the tart and they are the worst pastries I’ve ever had. The swan cream tasted so old, the puff pastry was so hard had no flavor, the cream tasted like it was old and it was compensated by adding a bunch of sugar. The tart had sweet fruit, but they use lemon curd instead of vanilla cream for the inside. I couldn’t understand how people review this place so highly it’s not even close to being authentic French I would not return again. Rather drive an hour to LA for real French desserts and rosé lattes at Ladurèe. This place was even more expensive than an authentic luxury French restaurant too.

Did not expect the quality that I found here. Top-notch French style bread and pastries and a knockout breakfast menu make this a favorite that I will go out of the way for when passing through Ventura!
