Nice little cafe. Can get very crowded during weekends but there's a nice open patio out front ava a few tables upstairs. 2 unisex restrooms in the back. Great pastries and lunch menu. You can ask for a pour over coffee although it's not listed on the menu.

Tried to sit in the upstairs seating area, emergency exit was taped off, hot, and very noisy. Coffee okay, but more expensive than other name brand coffee bars. Outside seating was nice.

Used to be my favorite coffee shop in downtown Los Altos. Ownership change perhaps has resulted in inconsistent espresso pulls and not the friendliest staff anymore. They also tend to have a hard time giving you a “for here” cup. You can expect a paper cup generally and then ask again “for here” and they will pour your latte into a real cup with a slightly annoyed look.

Espresso based drinks are ok (but not great). Drip coffee and pour overs are just slightly above average. If you truly need the best coffee - 1oz on Castro or Voyager in Cupertino are the choice. I really like their fancy black and red cups for to go. Nice touch. I’d put 5 stars if prices would be more adequate

I got the Dulce de Leche latte and it was delicious, but what really made this place even better were the people that worked there! Specifically a girl named Sami. She took my order, was so sweet and made the drink to perfection. 10/10 will come back to grab a drink and hopefully see her again!

Great people. You have to try the Afagato espresso and ice cream. Not for everyone. But man oh man!!!

Closer to 3 1/2 stars. This used to be my favorite coffee place, but I think there have been 2 changes in ownership in the last few years. Now it’s just another coffee shop. Also asked for coffee “for here” and they correctly gave me a real cup but then stuck pastry in a bag. I guess need to tell them every item ordered is “for here.” Not a big deal and unfortunately typical of too many places, but really? The good: remodeled upstairs has a lot comfortable seating. Recently added large seating area in the street (one benefit of Covid). Some gluten free options (I don’t like most gluten free pastries, but it’s good they provide the option.) The bad: I pay more now for an ordinary drip coffee and a pastry than I used to pay for a really good pour over and pastry. Music is a variation of what it seems like every coffee shop plays now which to me is annoying drivel and played too loud downstairs to boot. What is this stuff? Indie folk? 2020s hipster New Age?

This is a lovely spot to stop by. Seating available with WiFi. Coffee quality is good with a good espresso pull. The staff are welcoming and helpful. The food choices are tasty as well. It's a go to when I'm in the area.

Update: Cappucino Monday morning was great, and the croissant was more to my liking than Manresa, Midwife, or Maison Alyzee's (they have changed to all midwife baker, but other than the oft burnt almond croissants, the other Midwife croissants have improved on the burnt issue). Flaky, but not burnt, perfect layers, no burnt shortening odor, tasted fresh, no need to reheat. (Which is a plus, bc reheated croissants becomes greasy puddles) (11 months ago) If you are feeling an avocado toast for brekkie or lunch, give Red Berry's protein rich version a try. You get a poached egg, beets, chickpeas, and ricotta, as well as an artfully sprinkled microgreen/edible flower mix. You also get a choice of mixed fruit or salad. Being a lover of fruit, I always choose the mixed fruit, but it has been a 'mixed' bag. I appreciate RB gives you grapes, strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, instead of the more common and often maligned apples, grapes, and cantaloupe mix (which are often underripe or slimy). The grapes were excellent today, crisp and sweet, but the blueberries, blackberries, strawberries were mushy and/or bruised. If I had dined-in, the customer service is great, and I am sure RB would've replaced my mixed fruit upon request. On a personal note, I like that the bread is toasted golden, as some places char it or leave it soft. I do prefer a leaner bread, but if you love rich brioche, sturdy challah slices, you will love RB's avo toast. Good to know: The slice can be bigger or smaller, it's the luck of the draw!

Unfortunately they can't heat your china cup, that was not from the top of the coffee machine!! They first refused, finally did great it up with some hot water, but that was way too much work for them. Also ordering in advance in the line, did not work even though 2 baristas were waiting. After I paid I had to wait again to have my coffee be started and finished. Even the manager could not help his customer. .

I read the great reviews and thought of giving this place a try. I visited during the weekend when not many people were around. I ordered a rose latte specifically asking "for here". The baristas don't seem focused at their work and were in their own world. They gave me the latte in to go cup. I mentioned I had ordered it for here. She simply rudely poured the already prepared latte to some cup. It was so light, I asked for an extra shot for which they again charged and I am not sure if they even added the extra shot. I've visited so many coffee shops and whenever similar situation has occurred, the baristas have gone out of their way by preparing from scratch. But in this place, let alone apologizing or going out of their way, they were rude to me for asking what I ordered. Not sure why they have such good reviews.

The cafe has a nice ambiance and is quite busy on Saturday mornings. I saw on their online menu that they have a vegan breakfast bagel sandwich, but when I visited they confirmed they didn't have any vegan breakfast items. A bit disappointing. I ended up getting an avocado toast by removing eggs and cheese on it. Would love to see them add/bring back vegan breakfast/ brunch items.

I love this specialty coffee shop because of the lovely staff and great espresso drinks. Their breakfast sandwiches are always delicious. However, I wish they can stay open late.
