This place is full of great energies! All of staffs are super nice. Food and drinks are great as well.
Update: this coffee shop has added an additional 3.5% fee to all receipts listed as a Merchant Fee. I personally think that’s a little sneaky in comparison to raising their prices 3.5%. More and more companies are doing this and I think it’s bad customer experience as it reduces transparency on prices. Additionally, did the wages of their employees increase to match this price increase? — Added the sign
Public Square never disappoints! Their coffee is always prepared wonderfully and the americanos are delicious. For food, I choose a scone with cinnamon butter if I want a sweet dish. If I am wanting a savory dish, the coffee carnitas sandwich is a flavor explosion you don’t want to miss! Plan to arrive early if you want to avoid the crowds. If you like sleeping in, prepare to wait in line. I promise, it’s worth it!
As always public square coffee house exceeds expectations. Excellent breakfast sandwich for lunch😁 with house brew coffee. I love the energy in this place!! 😁😁😁😁
First timer and did not disappoint. Great coffee, food, customer service and atmosphere! Tried their Black Sesame Latte and the Not-so Old Fashioned Biscuit & Gravy and it was phenomenal. Will be returning! Thanks for the great experience.
Public Square always has great customer service, great food, great coffee and the ambience is perfect. The gluten-free options are really nice!
Everyone is very lovely at Public Square and the employees are great. I do wish it took less time to get my order. I chose to come here only when I know I have some wiggle room on my time. That said, it does set an atmosphere that causes me to slow down a bit in life and for that I'm grateful.

Loved the scone and butter flight. Also got the sesame latte and chocolate chip cookie which were both delicious. Liked the outdoor seating with separated spaces. Friendly service.

We were the ONLY people at the front of the line...there was easily 4 people behind the counter. They barely acknowledged us for 5 minutes....then the guy out sweeping the floor and clearing dishes felt bad for us and came put his broom down and took our order. It was literally iced tea and cold brew coffee. Super easy order. They servers were just rude with the exception of the probably lowest paid employee (only saying that because he was young and not making the coffee) Not sure I would head back here.
Delicious scones paired with yummy flavored butter options. Great coffee! My favorite is the avocado toast(not pictured), I usually add an extra egg and bacon. This coffee shop can get pretty packed so keep that in mind when going to do work/study or with large groups.
This place is hip with a clean and refreshing vibe. They offer a delicious diet friendly coffee and food menu. The service does take a little long but it was the weekend so completely understandable. They have some toys for kids so it's nice when you have impatient little ones. I highly recommend this place.
I frequent this place during the week for mental breaks. Today was able to take the family. I had found something in my food of course a total accident. They went above and beyond. As if things were gonna be different, this place will continue to get my support!! The food is just an added bonus to the excellent vibe and customer service. Make the stop! The scones are incredible !
Love this cage. The baked egg and tomato dish is excellent....haven't been able to get something like it anywhere else!
Don't skip the scones! I love the variety of different lattes. My favorites so far are the pandan and black sesame. Seating can be a challenge.
Finally - a cute breakfast place for when we're visiting La Mesa! Love the atmosphere and the very friendly service. We loved the Pandan and Vanilla lattes with the signature breakfast sandwich. Getting back in line for a scone to go!
The best coffee place in La Mesa. We regularly come here and the food + coffee have always been good. The service is great as well.
My husband and I were looking for a quick stop for coffee and the Public Square Coffee House offers so much more than that! You first walk up to an inviting patio with beautiful trees and umbrellas to offer shade. The interior of the coffee shop is uniquely decorated and feels modern and vintage at the same time. The employees are friendly and knowledgeable about their offerings. I ordered the breakfast sandwich which was perfectly crunchy and savory with bacon, eggs and vegetables. My husband got the chia bowl with raspberry and granola. We also ordered the scones and butter flight to share. And let me tell you, this is one of the most amazing things we've ever eaten! It is a must have. This scones are light and fluffy with a neutral flavor that is a perfect vehicle for all the different flavored butters in the flight. My husband ordered a plain black Americano which he said was delicious. I had the black sesame iced latte with charcoal. It was fantastic. Overall the experience at this cafe was fantastic! We will be back!
I’m madly in love with public square. The food is incredible and the staff is always soooo warm and welcoming. One of my favorite cafes I’ve ever been to:)
