No pour over coffee? Why?
So great having Dark Horse in East County. Their house made syrups are yummy. I usually get the salted maple iced latte. Their Champ is really popular too. They have an assortment of pastries and breakfast items. There is also a small area with bagged coffee beans, merch, and some art.
Huge Huge fan of the coffee, I always get the Champ extra sweet, but I am not a fan of their closing hours. It forces me to go to Starbucks
Love me some Dark Horse! Starbucks has gone wayyy downhill and DHCR has been my saving grace. The coffee is consistently fresh and delicious. The service is great and the seasonal options are always *chefs kiss* Never a bad experience here :)
The coffee was good and the service was on point. I came when their baker was on a holiday break so I didn’t get to try pastries but I’m looking forward to visiting again soon!
I'm reading just based on their coffee Just tasted like water with a little bit of coffee
Had chai latte it was absolutely delicious! Highly recommend
Darn good cup of drip coffee :) One of the best in San Diego
Great drip coffee and better service!
I think we all know by now That S-B's stopped brewing anything that resembled coffee YEARS ago . So having Dark Horse so close to my house was like receiving a gift from the Gods themselves. Thank you DH for showing our little corner of the neighborhood what good coffee is all about. For the nuts and bolts, their bread and butter is Central and South American plantations, but have always had Ethiopian, for the most part, and are starting to include coffees from Kenya and Tanzania from time to time. The coffee roasting is just fantastic. Sometimes, the Columbian coffee, from a particular plantation is so good, and so special, Juan Valdez will have a few bags flown to him direct. Okay so he doesn't, but you get the picture. The coffee is always changing, too. Like a trip around the world. Can't speak much for the coffee beverages. Like going to any place for a mocha, or whatever, let them know how you like it (strong on the mocha, extra hot, etc.). That way, you won't walk away disappointed. All that said, have a nice trip!
Love the ice latte. Very good coffee
By far the best coffee shop in sd! I’m a regular at dark horse and their cold brew is on another level.
Good service but the Americano I got is worse than Starbucks coffee. I worked as a barista for some time and the measurements must be off. Far too acidic leaving that lingering aftertaste and throat feel. Really disappointed dark horse holds a good name.
I go out of my way to come to Dark Horse at any location. The coffee is Devine 🥰 And the avocado toast 😋
Great coffee, great service.
First time at this place. Iced coffee was almost 6 dollars and no wifi. No one knew the password. Only 3 seats inside.
The coffee here is some of the best I have tried. My favorite drink is The Champ. Their Ethiopean blend whole bean coffee is awesome
Not a huge fan of their Americano. Must be the way they roast the beans for their espresso.
Great coffee for those who enjoy a stronger coffee flavor. They also sell tasty donuts, cute clothes, branded accessories, and coffee grounds. My go-to coffee shop before work 💪
I just dropped in on a rainy day to grab coffee. Got a hot 16 oz latte. It was super quick and I was out in less than 5 mins. I enjoyed latte!
