Hubs & kids say this was the best snowcone ever. I'm not a huge fan but even I was impressed and would gladly go back. The snow cones were huge and stayed powdery and kept the syrup instead of turning into ice with the syrup just pooling on the bottom. I got a rootbeer float that had ice cream in the center. Amazing!

Yummy shaved ice. You can get up to 3 flavors in one cup. The small was enough for two. Coffee is good, dirty chai was delicious. Decor and seating vibes were meh, but I'm glad we came. Enjoyed it. Would come back for the shaved ice! Thanks!

Literally came to Avila beach just for the tiny two room aquarium. Well I just love this small slice of seaside heaven. We were strolling around and came across Big Al's. The shave ice is 100% on point. Had the lava flow with ice cream in the middle. When some asks you want something from Big Al's. Just smile say Shoots Brotha and throw up your Shaka.

Best boba in town, I got the blended taro boba and it was amazing I had just finished surfing g and went there to see what they got and my friends got shaved ice and blue Hawaii boba and there’s were soooo good the shaved ice was really good and she added the sour stay on it that was also really good. The prices and reasonable for a regular size for the boba is $6.00 and the shaved ice was also a really good price. I would really recommend going her so drinks and shaved ice, they also are like a little shop which was cool to look around while waiting for our drinks.

Best Boba and shaved ice in Avila Beach. I've never had a shaved ice like Big Al's. A must try is the scoop of ice cream in the middle - EPIC!

WOW. Seriously, I thought I was back in Hawaii! I had the matcha shave ice with ice cream. The ice cream itself would be good enough to eat solo. But the matcha ice.. trust me when I say it is a delicious STRONG matcha green tea taste. It was covered in matcha dust which I’m sure helped. I might go back and get it again before I leave. My only regret was not taking a picture of it!

Smoothies 100% fruit are supposed to be with actual fruit. They use pre-made fruit juice instead - sounds like cheating. Shaved ice is just ice with colored liquid.

Grabbed a whole milk latte to take to the beach. Friendly service, no line or much of a wait, and latte wasn't scalding so was ready to drink. Made for a good experience.

Came here for shave ice with the family and it was awesome. From other pictures, it looks like they used to have the petal-plastic containers I remember from Hawaii, but they’ve replaced them with more eco-friendly paper-based bowls. The ice shaving machine looks like the standard Hawaiian one and the ice itself comes out light and fluffy. About 16 flavors are available, limit 3 per serving. $4 for a small, $6 for a large and $3 for the unadvertised mini. Add $1 for a scoop of vanilla ice cream in the middle. Small is a generous size, pictured below. Update (4/11/2021): Still delicious and the best shave ice I’ve had outside of Hawaii. Mini is now advertised, small and large increased in price a little bit. Absolutely worth it. Inside dining is closed, so it’s either eat outside sitting on the brick walkway or take it somewhere else.
