We visited this small quaint restaurant while staying at Desoto State Park. The staff were amazing and food was very good. We tried the spinach artichoke dip, the veggie sandwich with gouda soup, and Flatbread. We are vegetarian and the food for us was very delicious. I would definitely recommend this place.
Good food, great service, we loved the live band.
We had the personal pizzas and they were good.
Fantastic lunch menu. I had the Cuban sandwich which was very good. Atmosphere was very good with spacious seating, eclectic decorations, and curio shop next door. Open lunch and dinner with large menu.

Food was ok, lunch menu smaller selection. Service was ok, Staff seems very overwhelmed but not busy enough for them to not of had better service. Definitely will be trying other restaurants in area.

On a weekend getaway and we stopped in to try something local, and it was well worth it. Our waitress was friendly and helpful, great service overall. The food was delicious. I got the Brittany club and was a little skeptical about the housemade sauce of cream cheese and Greek yogurt, but it was good. The Brittany club is not a traditional club of turkey, bacon and ham, instead they use chicken, bacon and ham. Everything was sliced and cooked perfectly. My husband got the French dip and it was amazing. Simple, but delicious.
We had a group of 5 and went in got seated and the food was really good. I really loved the atmosphere of the place and look forward to going back. French dip was great!
It was okay Burgers were dry had the gouda red pepper soup which was very good.
My wife and I have made this our weekly Friday Date night place. The steaks are expensive but incredible. The wait service has been amazing and very attentive. We had the Cobb salad last Friday and it was so good. We are old and eat supper early. Wished they would start at 4 instead of 5.
The steak salad was fair. The fries and creamed spinach were cold. It appeared they had a few fries left over from a previous order because there were enough fries for a three year old. The wine is definitely subpar. When you see a wine list that doesn't even mention the winery, that pretty much says it all. Good beer list. Poor service. They seemed to take care of tables near us but if we needed anything, we had to call someone over after waiting and waiting. They completely ignored us. We drove 45 minutes to try it. I doubt we will ever go back.
The management and wait stafft have no clue what service means, under staffed waiting up to 30 mins to get served. It's a good one time deal, after that it's ridiculous.
We were visitors to Ft. Payne, a resident suggested 1889 to us. We had an enjoyable evening and enjoyed the entertainment and food. I even got to do a couple of songs. 👍
Amazing old-time venue, delicious food, friendly service!
The atmosphere is worth it all. Who doesn't love a place that's been rescued Go jus for the history. Food is food, so. Drinks were great n the atmosphere of being somewhere so old is what was best. Keep rescuing history in whatever form n I'll be there.
Almost 40 minutes from sit down to brought out food first time. 2 of us 3pm on a Saturday afternoon. We ordered a sandwich and a burger. My bread was burned and not edible. Sent it back to get non burnt bread. My husband's burger was cold. Waitress said cooks were really busy that day, but the table next to us sat down 30 minutes after us with 4 people and were doted over by 3 different waitresses. Their food came out right after ours. Will not be returning.

Tough day in vintage 1889. Between watching customers leave, the extremely long wait, and not receiving what we ordered… the disappointment started to spread across the cafe. There was a larger party who seemed to get all the attention, and was even given the food of the couple who left meanwhile my partner and I watched the faces of the couple who had been there longer than us drop with disappointment. An even bigger shock when our food came out before theirs.. mind you all we ordered was a couple of grilled cheese and two bowls of soup… received only cups of soup and left feeling hungry. The price is steep and the servers didn’t seem apologetic for any of what was going on. I understand that the world is short staffed, but having been a server myself, you can make up for that with kindness and just making your clientele feel seen and heard. In my opinion the couples food who left should have gone to the people waiting for 30 minutes not the large table who already had their food. Also note that there is a credit card charge which would have been nice to be mentioned considering my boyfriend had cash and asked which was easier. Overall not the best experience. Sad because the soup was delicious but service matters. Will not be back again.
