Owner roasts his own beans! The roasts are excellent, the espresso is spectacular: Hand pulled, perfect creme... makes Starbucks look like a joke (Which it is) and is a great deal cheaper compared to nearby Chestnut Hill Coffee Co., where your choice of savory food is as limited as the parking (which is all metered and time-limited).
The food is made-to-order for a very reasonable price. Bagels are excellent, bakery-fresh... Oh, and there’s a parking lot and plenty of (FREE) street parking. You really can’t find better in the area, and believe me I have tried...

Best coffee I’ve had in awhile. Super smooth, well balanced. A bit nutty and toasty warm. Got a bagel to go as well. Super nice. Ya know that feeling when your day is just off to a great start, Locals put extra pep in my step. Even when it’s hard to hear in a mask over the grinding of fresh beans. Forgot for a moment it’s still pandemic mode, thanks for great service.

Great food for breakfast and great service. Unfortunately, I am not a huge fan of dogs inside restaurants. Okay outside, but why would you let a dog stay inside where people are trying to eat?

We got a cold brew and a drip coffee. The cold brew tasted like coffee flavored water, but the drip coffee was decent. Was really displeased with our barista who seemed to be having a bad day and was taking it out on us.

Great lattes and breakfast sandwiches. Nice ambiance. Much better than Starbucks.

I’m honestly kind of saddened to call some of these reviewers my neighbors. Some of these negative reviews were given within months, even weeks, of the shop opening. Of course, there are going to be some kinks to work out. It’s a small shop and the people who work there and own it are our neighbors, so try being neighborly! They have hired more help, started using local vendors for baked goods (the chocolate chip scones are to die for!), they rearranged the tables, probably in an attempt to make it less chaotic when they’re busy. They’re doing a great job adjusting things to give us all a better experience! I literally read a review where someone complained that it was busy and loud in there on a Saturday. Seriously?! You can give a bad review because they were busy when you went there. Should they turn paying customers away at the door so that you can have a quieter experience? I also can’t believe anyone would say management didn’t care about the customers. The owner is always out on the floor saying hello to customers and knows many by name. She brought my daughter a cup of milk one day to have with her cookie because she said it “wasn’t right” to have a cookie without milk. She was incredibly sweet! Everything hasn’t always been perfect when I’ve been there but they are getting there! You have to give new businesses time to figure out what works and what doesn’t. Negative reviews can hurt their business and shouldn’t be used as a suggestion box. I LOVE LOCALS! I think they’re doing a great job and they’re a great addition to the neighborhood. I haven’t been to a Starbucks in months because Locals coffee is so much better! Keep it up, guys!

I really wanted to like this place! I walked from the next neighborhood over one Sunday. It was packed to the brim with chatty parents+wild children all over the place to the point where it was impossible to get to the counter when they called my name for my sandwich and a dad had to kindly grab it and wade halfway across the room to me. Also, for some reason there were people dressed as ducks stained in front of the door (I almost just turned around without going in, because I never want someone in my face, but especially not when I need coffee and chill time). All that is fine or even great if you are one of the soccer moms/dads liking to socialize. It's not so great if you want to sit with your coffee and read your magazine in peace like you can at many other coffee shops. The coffee WAS very good, and I believe everyone should have a light and dark roast on as they do. I was however overcharged by $1.22, which it took til later to calculate, because I want offered a real or an emailed receipt, which also means I can't prove it. So, it was $9.01 for a large coffee and a croissant sandwich. The sausage on the sandwich either started out as bits or was sliced into small pieces for some reason, making it difficult to eat as an actual sandwich without it falling apart, and this could be personal preference, but it didn't taste like breakfast sausage...the seasoning was different. So, I wish them the best as a community hub and hope it continues to be busy, but I will never go there again.

The associate taking my order was very rude to me. When taking my order I asked her to repeat because I couldnt hear her, she was soft spoken & rambled off the different options really fast. She looked at me like I was stupid and than she talked really slow, like I was slow! Not very nice. Not coming back here.

Great little coffee shop with fast and friendly service. My cold brew was perfect & so was my guys' black coffee. When a place can serve tasty and fresh black coffee, you know it's good. There are a few tables to sit outside and enjoy your coffee.

Can only speak to the coffee, but it's quite good! I am SO glad they did the (what I think is the suburban thing) and have a dark roast to cater to the casual coffee drinker and also have a lighter, medium roast on tap if you're not into that. Give me a coffee on tap from some of the big names in the city against this and you'd be hard pressed to say which was better. Also, friendly people 👍
