Beautiful and bright, clean, cozy atmosphere! Owners were very kind and friendly.... such professional and kind service, a personal touch! Delicious fresh omelet and a tasty Irish cream latte. Definitely coming back! Love that they sell unique clothing and small items.

Love love love this coffee house! Great find!
Skip the Starbucks and absolutely stop by Commonwealth!
A true coffee *house* it is. A sprawling space, with many welcoming chairs, tables and even a cozy couch. The colors & decor are tasteful and welcoming. Small boutique table.
The owner(s) is so friendly and informative. He was sharing with us that they roast the coffee beans, with flavor, in the barrel.
My mom loved her hazelnut coffee, she said it was wonderful.
My husband & I had their "specialty" Mochana! Delicious! A tasty 🍌 🥥 latte-- I had iced and my hubby had hot.
No extra sugar needed!
The bakery counter is small, but satisfying. And they seem to have a generous food menu.
Highly recommend stopping in here, next time you're at The Marketplace in Scranton!
Suggestion: Could use a few games, cards ♦️♠️, or the like!

Wonderful place and atmosphere! My wife recently told me about Commonwealth Coffeehouse and raved about it. Today was only my second time there with her but we made this “our place” after our first. The gentleman who I assume is the owner is very welcoming and friendly. The coffee and food is awesome and the nice pieces of art from local artist are a nice representation of the artists in our area. They also have musicians and other live performances and it just adds to the hip vibe the place already offers. 100% recommended.

The owner was absolutely unwelcoming!
As a graduate student, I was planning on making this place my go-to study spot. I've been here multiple times, and have ordered food and drink in the past.
This time, I had a big exam coming up so came to join a friend who ordered and was already studying. I was too busy to order anything at this particular visit. As we pack up to leave, the owner rushes from behind the counter towards us and tells me specifically that he doesn't appreciate how I just sat down and didn't order anything. He further squares up and goes to explain that if I am ever to come to commonwealth again, that I NEED to order something.
Sir, if you had just taken a few seconds to get to know me, you would have known that I was planning on becoming a regular and a loyal customer! But that interaction definitely left a sour taste.
His business sense, salesmanship, and emotional quotient definitely leaves room for improvement. Unfortunately, this news has spread by word of mouth among the students at my school (other potential customers). At the end of it all, I wish you the best and hope you treat your future patrons with welcoming arms so that you create an environment that feels safe and inviting.

I went in last Wednesday I believe. I think the owner greeted me. He was a very kind man, it was very early in the morning and he gave me recommendations seeing as how it was my first-time. I really enjoyed my caramel latte and sandwich. The food was delicious and the service was great. It's a very cute coffeehouse. 10/10 will be going again.

The fondest memories I have from this place… I recently picked up a white chocolate caramel latte and a pumpkin streusel to do some work. I also found a dress for my daughter. Previously, I stopped by with my son and had a beautiful lunch. We had soup lattes and some pretty yummy breakfast sandwiches. This place has the cutest vibe and amazing owners. Thank you for always making me feel right at home. 🙏🏽🖤🇺🇸

Owner is EXTREMELY rude. I had barely walked in the door to pick up an order I placed online and he immediately walked over to me stating that I wasn’t allowed to bring coffee from another shop into his store. He babbled on saying “my wife and I pay a lot of money blah blah blah.” While I respect this rule, my Starbucks coffee had about 3 sips left & I had ordered it 2 hours prior before Commonwealth was even open. Not to mention, his tone was very unfriendly and I would have definitely respected a kind “I’m sorry but we prefer if you don’t bring outside drinks into the store,” as opposed to the unfriendly ambush I received when walking in the door. Needless to say I will never be returning.

Great salad with a nice mild Italian house dressing. The sandwiches are a good size with lots of lunch meat on really good rolls. Very cute little place to grab lunch or breakfast. Nice addition to the downtown area.

To All Good people who visit this coffee shop, it's amazing!, I am a serious coffee drinker.
Please, check out the stand where the candles, earrings, bracelets, canes and walking sticks are located....
You truly won't be disappointed!

My first time there. Had the Yankee Clipper roast coffee ☕️ and a fried egg sandwich. Both were very good and prices were very reasonable. Very open space and comfortable.
