This is my favorite local coffee shop. It has a great setup and is a good spot to spend a lot of time, especially for getting some work done. Coffee selection is excellent and the baristas are always helpful. Drinks are a little expensive but totally worth it, especially with their rewards program.

Excellent for coffee snobs/lovers! The coffee they use is nuanced in flavor, and they take a lot of care in brewing and making the drinks. No burned taste or acidic punch like you'll get in that major coffee chain. I've had a pour over and a latte, and both were fantastic. Ambiance is modern and sophisticated. Free WiFi. Nice place to hang out and work or just grab and go.

The good: Nice music! They had some Thelonious Monk was playing, comfortable enough, pretty good espresso
The bad: they have some expensive gluten free pastries that are hands down the most vile combinations of bread and sugar that I have ever tried to consume, me and my partner got a cinnamon roll and a donut and both were basically inedible. They were impenetrably dense and dry. The icing was a sloppy mess. We threw them away and let the barista know but weren't offered a refund or an apology. It's unconscionable to sell things that are that gross.
And they've intentionally covered over all the power outlets. Why? I've never been in a coffee shop that is obviously a study spot that explicitly doesn't let you charge your laptop.
I get the impression of stinginess that comes at the expense of a comfortable and pleasant space for costumers

Favorite coffee shop in Pittsburgh. Everyone at Arriviste is knowledgeable and really cares about quality coffee. The atmosphere is great and the art is always a wonderful addition.

Quite shnazzy. I had the frothy milk and honey drink. It was lovely! I would appreciate some cinnamon and other spices to add a pinch into my drink. The coffee chef told me there was none available. That was the first time I ever heard that in a coffee shop... especially a really nice one. They should have everything. Very beautiful decor! I felt like I was sipping coffee in an art gallery where no one talks to each other. Overall, a lovely place! I will go back.

I went in the first time I loved the Decore and one of the awesome sayings on the wall. You have to read so inspiring! I was greeded a warm smile and met Kim. I love Matcha !!!!! And I, got myself one! Really refreshing! I didn't drink it fast I wanted to enjoy the love it was from. I will be and will refer this place.

Arriviste is my favorite specialty coffee spot in the city. Makes me want to move to Shadyside!
The cafe has a sleek, minimalist look (including a slick Modbar machine), an atmosphere that brings focus to the consistently high quality coffee. Kim and the staff nonetheless maintain a friendly and unpretentious vibe.
Limited but well tailored selections of baked goods and whole beans, too.
COVID-19: it's largely a to-go experience as the indoor seating is closed and there's very limited sidewalk seating. The overall feel is very clean and safe, everyone wearing masks and moving efficiently, plus additional considerations in place like making it easy to use touchless payments.

Great at what they do, but know what to expect. It is a modern coffee place with most things automated. A machine will make your pour over. Very delicious but if it is important to you that a human be pouring that water, then you might not like it! Good ambiance, limited seating space, you can sit at the bar which I always love, some food options, and most things a little pricier than you'd expect.

To put it simply: good people, good coffee, good place.
I've popped in a couple of times now, and I hope to visit more when I'm around. They carefully curate quality coffee beans, both local and otherwise. That's obviously part of the equation, but the other half is preparation, in which they excel too. The interior design exudes a well-executed modern aesthetic – clean lines, open spaces, minimalist – punctuated with displays of local art for sale. To top it all off, the baristas manage to carefully exude a relaxed professionalism, taking genuine interest in you as a person, not just a customer.
