Favorite go-to coffee shop. They have matcha lattes, tea, and quality coffee (and espresso shots 👌). Ive even enjoyed hot apple cider there. Alternative milk's are not extra, and they have oat milk ♥️ Great food selection and vegan friendly. Cozy spot to work or chill. Baristas are all delightful. They also are a great business in the neighborhood often collaborating with popups like empanadas.

UPDATE: THEIR HIGH TEA (afternoon tea techincally) IS BOMB AF. Service, ambience, food, and tea is amaze beans. Just make a reservation online and it happens every 2 and 4th weekends. High recommend.

The atmosphere is nice for working. The music selection and volume is perfect, each table has an outlet directly underneath, and there are many snack offerings. The reason for reducing a star is that the espresso is not coming out nearly as good as some of the better coffee shops in town and at this point does not justify the price. Also, I ordered an americano, which they only have one size, 10 oz with a double shot. I asked to make it a quad, which is just one more shot, and they tried to charge me $6.50 or so. They said it was the same as ordering two drinks. Nowhere in town is an extra shot worth doubling the drink price, usually it is 50 cents or $1 extra. Because this place is new I am hoping they can dial in the espresso machine to get that good crema on top and also get their pricing figured out.

We got the pumpkin scone and a lemon poppy muffin. The muffin was moist as far as lemon poppy muffins go and the scone was also really good. Would defo suggest a pastry. We got an Americano and a drip with oat milk. The oatmilk came on the side in the tinniest, cutest creamer dish. Comfortable seating, ample sunlight, optimistic atmosphere.

Adda has super cute vibes and their drinks & scones are yummy. It's pretty hard to find a table here, though. It's also not that big so it tends to get very loud (at least in the front room).

Cute place for tea and coffee. Not a ton of seating and somewhat crowded with studying college students but worth a try. The chai latte is very good, not overly sweet and a nice level of spice.

The espresso is the new gold standard for me. I never knew straight up espresso could be so good! It doesn't have the negative side effects that coffee normally has on me (normally coffee is a laxative and gives me headaches).

The grown-up chocolate milk superimposes hot espresso and cold chocolate for a unique drinking experience that starts off with espresso, turns into the duality of espresso and rich chocolate milk, and finishes off with espresso. It's a well thought out drink, and people who knock it or do something silly like try to mix it and end up with a lukewarm drink don't get it.

For those who would rather have something sweet and coffee flavored, the affogato is also something to try. I usually just mix the ice cream and espresso and drink, which works fairly well, though many people just drink the shot of espresso and eat the ice cream separately as a palate cleanser.

The scones and clotted cream are a unique blend of american-style flavored scones with english-style clotted cream, resulting in a rather delicious mixture. I personally enjoyed the lime and white chocolate scones.

The tea is of good quality, and it's notable that you get a timer for the perfect steep. The only point of improvement I would like from ADDA is a larger selection of teas, with more loose leaf varieties and more chances to try out esoteric teas, like jasmine dragon pearl tea, or the like.

Specialty coffee is booming in Pittsburgh, and Adda is one of the better examples of what specialty coffee can be.

The issue with coffee shops comes down to consistency. There are a number of shops in Pittsburgh where one can get great coffee, but less where one can expect to walk in at anytime of the day and expect a good shot or pour-over (other shops that come to mind in this category: Arriviste, Artisan, Constellation).

There are also a number of shops where one can find consistency in one category (espresso) but not another (pour-overs). In this category, 21st Street comes to mind.

I've visted Adda about 8-10 times. Both espresso and pour-overs have always been on point, and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Plus they serve Verve, which is delicious. I'd highly recommend giving these guys a visit.
