Cafe One Eight

I tried Cafe One Eight for the first time today after hearing so many good things about it. Here are some pros and cons I experienced.

PROS:
Clean, bright interior
Comparable prices to other shops in town
Good food/drinks (8/10)
Quick service
Stayed true to their convictions throughout the pandemic

CONS:
Crowded inside
Not handicapped accessible
Staff was pretty off putting
(I've NEVER had rude service from a coffee shop in Lancaster, but today broke that streak. The cashier acted very irritated, and the baristas were loudly/inappropriately goofing around. None of the staff members were smiling?? Super strange.)

When I go out for coffee, I want it to be a happy, relaxing experience. I didn't get that here, so it'll probably be a while before I try it again.

Cafe 18 has the best lunch menu in downtown Lancaster! Their sandwiches, salads and soups are always amazing. Not to mention their coffee and breakfast menu. A great atmosphere and even better food!

Amazing coffee. Ordered a simple almond milk latte and it was perfect. The aesthetic here is really great. My one concern is the number of people allowed inside the cafe at one time during the pandemic, because dine-in is available and at some points we felt a little crunched. We chose a spot by the window, hoping to avoid the crowds, but 5-7 people were backing up at the counter and out the door at once on top of the 10 or so already seated, not wearing masks. Staff was super friendly!

I had a good experience with my fiancé. This was our first time visiting Lancaster city and we happened to walk into this cafe because it was freezing outside and we parked nearby. Their caramel lattes were very good and their Lancaster burrito was extremely filling, I couldn’t even finish the whole thing. I would recommend trying this cafe out the service was also very good. Our food and coffee was served quickly especially with all the large crowd.

Second time eating here! First time was fantastic couldn't wait for the opportunity to bring my husband, raved about the pesto breakfast sandwich to him! Made it back four days after my first time. We got the French toast and the pesto breakfast sandwich. Our food didn't come out at the same time, that's ok Bc I would rather have a hot plate of food than for it to be sitting and waiting for the second meal. Unfortunately that wasn't the case.... the French toast was cold... I didn't mention it until my husbands sandwich made it out... he took the first bite and said "it's cold". I wanted to tell the staff but not long after we got our food another customer took her food to a staff member and sent it back Bc it was ALSO cold 😬. Great atmosphere, great coffee! First experience was GREAT, food was hot. I would go back but if I get cold food again I can't say I would return!

Very friendly service, excellent food and coffee. Great location to all things central Lancaster! Can't wait to go back!

I love coming to this place every time I’m in town ! But today was an even more wonderful experience thanks to the excellent service provided by Demi !!! Thank you guys so much for a great experience every single time !! The staff even brought my dog out a pup cup without me even asking !!! Amazing all around .

Great place for a relaxing breakfast. The food was really good and the price was reasonable. Lots of coffee choices and other drinks. I would recommend eating here.

Awesome breakfast! I had cinnamon swirl French toast with berries & yogurt covered in honey. He had the Lancaster Egg Burrito - sausage, bacon, tomatoes, roasted red pepper, potatoes, eggs & provolone cheese (minus the tomato). Coffee was self serve & choice of 3 brews. We hoped to sit outside, but it started raining as we walked from the car. Inside is the typical hipster white/wood/brick decor, clean & simple. Service was very friendly, food came quickly. We were both happy with the meal.
