The breakfast burrito I had was served nice and hot. The coffee was great! One suggestion I have is maybe putting a sign up on the front door saying please shut door behind you. The school kids that came in would not shut the door( unless they were reminded)and it became cold in the room.

Delicious food, celiac-safe options. I like the Keto scramble and Black bean ranch is verde. Beautiful decor in a tastefully renovated old church, with patio.

Secluded away within the humble homes this wonderful cafe offers fantastic atmosphere for any party size, as well as live music giving the perfect morning vibe on the weekend.

The staff was very pleasant with wonderful banter, and honest about the wait times on a busy morning. Since we had such a wonderful spot under a shade tree with birds and music, didn't hardly feel like a wait tho. Definitely my new favorite cafe in town! Just wish I could come more often!!

Super tasty food and relaxing outdoor patio. I had a chicken gyro with a tangy tzatziki sauce that was divine. The tomato soup was a perfect accompaniment.
I ate here years ago when it was the Riverenza and since I don’t get to The Dalles very often I was so glad to see that this cute old church is still serving up delicious food. I hope to be back soon!

Absolutely love the atmosphere; lots of natural light, high ceilings, plants sporadically throughout the room giving a garden like relaxation. Service is fantastic, and timely. And the food is amazing. Best biscuits I have ever had in my life, I'd happily just buy them as is, or sub them for any other bred item on the menu. I'm legitimately obsessed. Coffee is fantastic and I'm a big fan of the house made honey-lavender flavour. They have a couple house made flavours as well as the usual expected.

I was in the Dalles, OR for the labor day weekend and discovered this cafe. This is a gem of a place!! When I arrived, I’d have easily missed this place if it wasn’t for the customers seated in the open area. After all, this cafe is housed in a remodeled church! Which is charming! Ah, it was rather dreamy!

Since I decided to sit out in the open, it took me a while to figure out that one needed to go in and order at the counter and then pick a table and wait for the dishes.

On to the food! I wanted a simple breakfast and ended up getting the porridge. I loved it. Any restaurant that can make the most basic dishes yummy are the best kind out there! And, The Riv cafe really served the best porridge that I’ve had so far! The cool porridge was deliciously refreshing under a warm sun! 😋 The drip coffee was fresh and yummy too!

If you’re in the Columbia Gorge or around The Dalles, stop by here. You’ll not regret it! Personally, I’d consider making a little detour to stop by, if I’m around. 🙂

I really like the place, but don't get the suns up burrito. Doesn't even taste Mexican. Had some sort of white cream sauce in it. No salsa on the side. Will go back and try other dishes.

Sunday breakfast around 11am. Fitting since the business is in an old church!

Really cool atmosphere and friendly staff. They were clearly understaffed but that did not detract from our experience.

The chicken & waffles and biscuits & gravy were delicious and the portions were huge! We basically got four meals, plus coffee drinks for $30.

The drip coffee was good and strong, with free refills. I got the Cherry Hood, which is espresso, seltzer water, cherry syrup and whipped cream, which sounds really weird but was super tasty. The bacon was perfectly cooked.

Tried a bite of the breakfast burrito and french toast and they were good, but not as good as what we ordered. Will def be going back the next time we are in The Dalles!
