Bought a couple bags of coffee to bring back for some friends as I had a recommendation that these guys were decent. Asked the guy in the store to recommend their smoothest coffee and I got feedback from friends and it matches my tasting that their coffee is very bitter. NOT SMOOTH at all. Not a good recommendation if youβre looking for smooth coffee. Bummer.

The only thing I would hope they could change is that some of their staff are too cool for school. No friendliness or a smile on some

Adapting to the time zone. Got a small black coffee in the hope it could mask my traveler's fatigue. Maybe a big smile will do the trick.

Stumptown always has great, but highly overpriced coffee. However, their absurd "cashless" policy makes zero sense. Also, the lady who works at the front needs a customer service lesson in friendliness. I asked to give her a cash tip, and she said "no I am not touching that." There is zero scientific evidence that COVID-19 sits on cash. Please re-examine your business practices. Plus, it is a little weird to not take cash as a small business.

Great coffee friendly staff
and probably the
prettiest and greatest designed public bathroom I have ever been in....

This was my first stop in Portland and I was very pleased. They were friendly and nice. The espresso was so good and the atmosphere is unique. I liked sitting in the lobby of the Ace Hotel and drinking my espresso while reading a local, Portland newspaper.

Great coffee and even better setting. Next to the Ace Hotel where you can use the old photo booth

I try local coffee on every trip, and have done so from San Francisco to Rome to Vienna, but this was one of my favorites. The blend they use for espresso has plenty of flavor without being too acidic or otherwise hard to drink. They sell whole beans, and though they're a bit on the expensive side, I was tempted to take a bag home with me.
