Peet's is AWESOME! Great staff, great atmosphere, and I love everything the company stands for. Plus their mochas aren't overly sweet unlike Starbuck's mochas.

Coofee is good but I don't think they want you to hang around. There is only two soft "lounging" seats. The rest are chairs. Skip the pastries here and head across the street to St Honore Boulangerie.

I was staying at the hotel next door and just needed an easy breakfast. Oatmeal was great and they had bananas and bagels as well. Staff was super friendly and the shop was really clean.

Open again after remodeling. Not as comfortable as the old design: colors are too dark, especially near the ceiling (like being in a cave). No divider between traffic coming in/out of the store and the seating area, feels less comfy. Tables crowded along the bench at one wall, seating feels too close to next table. Need more tables and chairs in the empty and dead-feeling space where the seating used to be.

Was in for my first time on Sat.
Wasn't sure what I wanted. However everyone was so very helpful in assisting me in getting a great cup of coffee.
I have my new go to spot.
Thanks ladies.

Awesome and friendly people. Street root vendor right outside. Coffee pasty reading. Here every other day buying coffee and other thing. Nice quite relaxing to the beginning of your day or ending.

For black tea lovers, this place has quite a few choices.
I walked in expecting, at best, Tazo tea bags. But the menu had 3 or 4 types of Darjeeling tea in addition to Assam and other vareitals. I ordered Darjeeling kalimpong. on request it was brewed in a pot. I let ot steep for about 5 mins and ot was very good.
Great place for god quality black tea..

Meh. With all of the locally-owned, delicious coffee to be had in Portland, why would you buy mediocre, over-priced coffee from Peets, owned as it is by a German conglomerate? At least Starbucks is still owned by the founders. Peets is a waste of time and money.

Love these folks and sometimes the brewed coffee can be really amazing but beware: their cash registers often don't work, can't accept cards, or have other problems.
