This restaurant is a true treasure! Best peanut butter pie I've ever eaten at a restaurant. All the food was wonderful. It's hard to recommend one dish over another. But that's okay - your server will help make selections to suit your tastes. The decor is very eclectic, yet it feels comfortably homey.

Let me start by saying that the salads we had for appetizers, the mushroom ravioli, and the risotto we had for mains were outstanding. They had creativity such as putting the risotto in an acorn squash, and were extremely well prepared. We really appreciated the selection of wines and vegetarian choices on the menu.

Two things prevent a 5 star rave and they are both fairly minor, but did completely change our experience.

First, unlike most restaurants of similar quality the bread and butter were not free. We were accepting and paid $5 for the same amount that is usually in a free basket. While the bread was not noteworthy, the butter was individually wrapped dairygold pats that even a grocery store provides for free with prepared foods. This completely invalidated the otherwise charming first experience of entering and be seated in a beautiful atmosphere.

Second, when making our reservations online the reservation system asked if it was a special occasion and I shared that it was a birthday. To me this created no specific obligation. However, just before the restaurant's opening time I received a text asking me the name of the birthday celebrant. I provided my wife's name and expected some sort of acknowledgment was to come, whether that would be a song, a slice of cake, or something less tangible I wasn't sure. When nothing at all happened I was disappointing and that was only amplified when we walked out the door and saw a couple's name written in chalk celebrating their anniversary.

Now it felt like they do have a program for those special occasions, but chose not to provide whatever added festivity for my wife. This left a very sour taste in my mouth.

While I highly recommend the main courses for the creativity and delicious preparation of the menu, I can't say I appreciated the customer service.

We loved our meal here! James was our waiter and he was wonderful. We had the lamb special, the prawns & crab cakes. Honestly, chefs kiss. 10/10 would recommend to anyone stopping by and wanting a nice date night dinner. We came for my fiancés birthday. Only minus was that they didn’t write his name in chalk like all the other birthday guests 😉

I love this place. It's a highlight of every visit to the coast. This Halibut was fantastic. Even the flower was delicious.

Charming atmosphere with excellent vibes really make this a dining experience. Of course you couldn't enjoy a dining experience without great food and Side Door does not disappoint. I had a miso tuna special with saffron rice, and it was quite fantastic. We did have to make reservations as it's a very popular restaurant. Despite what seemed to be a well staffed front of house, orders seemed to be moving slow. It could have been an off night, but everything moved just a little bit slower than I would have liked. Absolutely would have been a five star experience without the slowed down service, and there is no doubt in my mind that I will return.

The Side Door Cafe is always a treasured experience! The pleasing ambience, instrumental background music, and friendly staff serve as the perfect accompaniment to a delicious meal! Everything is rich and satisfying. On this visit, my wife and I chose to have the house special seafood chowder as our appetizer. We followed up with seafood fettuccine for me, and crusted halibut on pasta for my wife. I also had a Passion Fruit Habanero Martini, while she enjoyed a pinot gris. Side Door Cafe normally serves the Passion Fruit Habanero Martini more tart than I like, but the bartender was happy to sweeten it up for me. Another fantastic dining experience at the Side Door Cafe!

Delicious food and amazing ambiance! We ordered the burrata appetizer special, the seafood Alfredo, and the salmon salad special (berries, nuts and Gorgonzola)! The portions were generous and the flavor was on point!

The drinks were okay.

Best place to eat in Lincoln City area. We have been going since they opened and we have never had a bad meal. It is our go-to place for anniversaries and birthdays. Everything comes out prepared exactly as it should be. I recently had the New York steak covered in crab. It was cooked perfectly and served hot with great sides, exactly as it should be. And it was just as great as it sounds. Soups are a specialty here; do not miss them. All their deserts are the best you have ever had. Don't let the out-of-the-way location fool you. This place is world class.

I can't say I have ever had such a wonderful meal thanks to a wedding gift from 2 amazing people. From drink to dessert the entire experience was nothing short of magical. You won't leave hungry and make sure to get a reservation!
