Little Brown Hen Cafe

Go where the locals go is my technique for finding the best eats and that premise certainly paid out at The Little Brown Hen Cafe!
From the moment we walked in we were welcomed by a friendly, prompt greeting and we're seated right away! Within a quick minute we were sipping their locally roasted coffee and a truly yummy Bloody Mary with a candied bacon rose for garnish!
Breakfast was wonderful! Homemade and hand crafted, excellent gravy and custom meats from Childers Custom Wholesale Meats in Eugene.
The chicken fried steak was light and crisp, perfectly cooked and not greasy at all. My poached eggs were some of the best I've had.
The bacon was thick, crisp and smokey and the sausage patty was well seasoned without being too salty or spicy.
The ambience of this little Cafe is fun, welcoming and comfortable!
The Little Brown Hen is cash only but they do have an ATM available if you need it.
I would very highly recommend this Cafe for breakfast or lunch (they close at 2pm) and you can bet that we will be back!

Easily my new favorite breakfast spot I've been too since moving to Oregon. The menu is great! They got your typical items you expect from a breakfast house, but then they have other items that are unexpected, whimsical options. Meaning, it's not a boring menu. The food itself is done well using great ingredients. Just yum.

Great food and friendly staff! Corned beef hash is made here. Scramble was tasty. Hash browns are amazing! Coffee is good too! Will be coming again when we are in the area. Thanks!

The food was absolutely amazing. The shrimp and grits were to die for. Avocado toast was really delicious. Bloody Mary's were perfect, they had the right amount of spice. It was a little expensive, but for the quality of the food it made it well worth it. And the service was on point. Very friendly. Coffee and water was always full. Asked multiple times if we needed anything else. All in all, a really great place to eat. I 100%, definitely recommend this place. Sorry about the pic if the shrimp and grits. Wife couldn't wait to try them.

The service, food, and pastries were delicious. We came to town for our valentines fun. And we will be back. A couple came with us. We stayed at the ocean breeze hotel which was very old-school cool clean and comfy. And we woke up with hearts on our door. We will be back there as well. my hubby had stuffed hash browns and we shared stollen french toast and I had the avocado toast. Delicious. Very quiet and reasonable rates.had a great time exploring and shopping.

Ok, so the good news first - the food is very good. The service, however, was unfortunately not very good. It's a small place, there were several tables open when we arrived and we seated ourselves. It was almost an hour before we had food. We arrived on a Wednesday around 10:30 and it wasn't super busy. If we had known up front how long the wait was, we would have had very different expectations and likely would have gone somewhere else because we arrived hungry.

Great little restaurant and really good food, although I don't care for the Gravy since it has Sage in it, everything else was great! It is nit a quick bite to eat kinda place, as everything is cooked like it's home baked, but it sure is delicious! Check out the photos of the signs, they're great, and they mean it!
Breakfast and Lunch is all they serve, since they are only open until 2 PM. But, it's definitely a good place for either of those meals, really a MUST TRY!

Delicious food! I have eaten here for breakfast twice and it was soooooo yummy! Great service, too! Just remember to bring enough cash to pay and tip, as they only accept cash, though they do have an atm if you forget. 😊

Good food and the prices were comparable to all the other joints we had went to. The shop is local which was very nice to support. The staff was wonderful. Even though there was a large crowd they were friendly and the food came quickly. Highly recommend if in the city.

We are here based on Google reviews being highly rated. It did not disappoint! The service was fast ana friendly. The food was great and we went back the next morning and ate here again. Definitely recommend!
