Limited drink options, one type of dairy free alternative, and no additional flavored syrups for those who want it. Worker wasn't exactly the friendliest, but could just have been a slow morning. The shop is small and claustrophobic. The coffee was burnt and watery. Doesn't seem worthy of all the 5 stars it has received. Disappointing :/

I had first learned of Equiano coffee from the Kiva market down the bulk isle and the thing that caught my eye was the profile of the bean. You gotta get up close. A medium roast and the pleasing look of carefully sorted and selected coffee beans. To me, this meant specialty and upon further inquiry found a great, chill vibe full espresso cafe. Single origin and so many unique varieties. I would recommend a visit with the mimosa tree in the courtyard as it is so inspirational. Anyway I've been essetially obsessed with this coffee ever since and the community is awesome too of course!

Very pleasant and great atmosphere. Outside seating is wonderful on a nice day. They usually have some type of infused syrup behind the counter and can give recommendations.

Great vibes!
Really neat little coffee shop with an outdoor veranda and great vibes. The chai that the barista made me was fanstastic. I think they used a loose chai tea mix and not some concentrated sugar junk. Was soo good.
Also they had some super rad art in there.

My mom took me here early Saturday morning. She raved about the coffee and how she has supported the owner's business since his early days prior to this brick and mortar shop.
We walked, werewthe only two in the shop said good morning to the girl working.
There was not one word back from the employee. She gave a half grimaced smile/sneer and went back to the iPad in front of her.
As I was looking at the menu board and talking to my mom about what we should order, I glanced at the employee and she literally looked at me, rolled her eyes, frowned and looked back at the iPad.
I said to my mom we are leaving.
Went to Red Barn and had a great time thanks to their awesome, friendly and super staff.
Since when is the above mentioned behavior acceptable from an employee to a customer?
Our fix to this scenario was to move one to a different place. Afterall, we have lots of choices now in Eugene. Unlike growing up in the Whitaker District as a kid in the 70's. 😁
I"m writing this for the owner to process because my mom respects him and told me he is a really great guy.
This type of practice can kill a business very quickly. I've seen it happen first hand at a place I used to work.
Please track her attitude and possible comments. She was so extremely rude it prompted this review, which I only do in extreme cases.

Best tasting coffee I've had, and they're always really nice. Hasn't been too busy either, little too no waiting/lines even at 9am, which is usually busy time for coffee.

New to town. Happened upon Equiano. Barista was a sweetheart of a man, coffee and cookie were very tasty and you knew you were drinking coffee. Love that! You have our support and we will be back.

Great beans. Simple menu with no wrong choices. Lovely folks. Solid music. Total must visit if you like your coffee in traditional styles.
