The Green Country Cafe is a stop on the official Oklahoma Route 66 passport. It is a roadside diner that may be tempted to drive by but do yourself a favor and stop. The fried chicken is delicious and comes in a quarter or half portion and choice of meat is possible. The chili with beans and tater tots would be a perfect compliment for a cold day. Very delicious and we will come back!

My route 66 passport brought me here and I'm so glad that it did! The food was great, the service was wonderful, and the atmosphere is so welcoming. A must stop for anybody traveling along the old route! I definitely look forward to stopping by here again in the future.

This place is truly a real country Cafe! The menu has down home meals, solid good for you food, that's delicious and a joy to eat. The place was packed when I came in, yet I was served my salad shortly after I my order was taken. Then the scrumptious hot beef sandwich came surprisingly about the same time as a fast food drive thru! And the apple pie was just like my granny's, flaky crust and stuffed two inches thick! The wait staff were courteous and very friendly. This is a hidden treasure anyone visiting in the Grand Lake area should take the time to enjoy! (Forgive the messy plate, I took the photo after I ate half the meal, lol I was so full I had to take the pie to go!)

Most of the servers are great and friendly. Just one that tends to be a little hateful and is not very friendly. Not to mention after we received our food she never came back to check on us. Had to go up to the register to order our dessert. And it was a slow evening so didn't understand why. But the girls that work Saturday and Sunday lunch are rock stars.

Our server did a good job but food was lacking. Will not go back. When our meal took 20+ minutes to arrive, we were surprised at how thrown together it was. Hamburger steak was dry and overcooked, instant mashed potatoes were gummy, "brown gravy" looked like turkey gravy from a jar, dinner rolls from a heat and serve package. Salad was a generous portion but just lettuce, cabbage & carrots from a bag. Cheap bottled dressing. Grilled chicken was done well - seasoned and moist. Iced tea was tasty. No fresh lemon. No real butter. No booths. Busted up gravel parking lot. Sad.

NOT SERVED Jan 20, 2023
Got there at 4:30 ordered
People arrived after me got served. I asked the server why I hadn't been served. She discussed with the kitchen: 15 minutes later after watching food fly out to customers I left at 5 15 with and empty stomach!

The server should have noticed and done something way sooner!

The Kitchen should have made me a plate Immediately once notified but left me sitting another 15 minutes without food!

A complete FAILURE of ALL staff!

I found this place by accident when i was looking for a place to land for the night. It's next to the little truck stop which of itself is a nice spot to visit. There's also a Dollar General a couple hundred yards up the road which is convenient for the teucker crowd to get ods and ends. There is also a small motel; it looked nice fro the exterior.

But i digress. The steak I had was quite tasty, much so all that's needed is a little salt and pepper. For me, and this is just my taste, it needed a little garlic. The house salad was nice but lacked onion but was otherwise good.

And the pie, I had the chocolate pie. It was a nice finish to my meal and only $3. The waitress' did a fine job.

Lastly, if there are any quilt ladies seeing this review, there are several quilt shops within about a 40 mile radius of this site. This would make for a goid shop hop.

Anyway, enjoy your visit if you are in this neck of the woods.

Breakfast was great. Spanish omlette, tatters and bacon that surely is not from a resturant food vendor; tasty thick cut bacon.

I liked this place. It was a quaint country cafe. I just had the coconut pie and ice tea. It was very good. Reasonably priced. The waitress was on the ball. This place was on the Route 66 passport. So we went.

I ordered the beef steak special. It was very good and all the sides were perfect. The price $$$ is great.
