The Onyx Cafe

My partner and I were visiting from Houston this past week, and Google happened to recommend The Onyx Cafe as being "similar" to our favorite coffee shop back home. Good job, algorithm - this place was great. Delicious coffee and muffins, excellent service (we had a nice chat with the baristas), great ambience both inside and out on the front patio. Highly recommended!

Never knew it was here. Just became our new favorite place for coffee. Owner is Kind, courteous. Barista (Aniyah) helped in our indecisiveness. 😝 Laid back, comfortable & spacious.
We'll be back sooner than later again and again. 😁

Cozy little coffee shop by maumee bay brewing company. Small menu, but focus on doing things right! Butter Rum muffin was delicious. The Rose Lounge is a nice place there to sit; black leather seats, TV's and local art.

Stopped in and was pleasantly surprised. Great option especially for downtown employees. Just park on the side near Ottawa and the Middle grounds metro park for easy access.

I've been wanting to stop here since they opened and today It finally happened!
I ordered an iced vanilla latte with an extra shot of espresso. This is the best coffee that I've ever had. Please stop and check this place out. You won't regret it!

I went to the Onyx Cafe as part of Coffee Quest 419. I had never heard of it before that so I had no idea what to expect. The lobby itself was very classy and beautiful. The stamps they had for Coffee Quest were little black “onyx” gemstones, which I thought was pretty creative. I came in for an iced vanilla latte, but I may have forgotten to mention the iced part, so I had a regular hot vanilla latte instead. Let me tell you, I was not disappointed at all! It was creamy, flavorful, and made perfectly. I watched the barista as she prepared my drink and it was obvious that she cared about what she was doing. I will definitely be back and I cannot wait to try the iced version!

This place is great! Super friendly staff, lots of space to work or chill with friends and good coffee and tea. Will definitely come back.
